Tanny regards Parcells as a mentor. Sparano does as well. Plus Rex respects the hell out of him. It makes sense.

The only part I don't get is the secrecy behind his identity.

I think so. Fatcessa has softened his stand on Rex and the JETS. So it makes sense that it is Parcells. We all know that Francessa is his *****.

I didn't mean to discount it. It very well may be him. Especially with the secrecy. Parcells would never want his name attached to a program that didn't win. They're basically saying that they'll tell you his name if everything works out, and they won't if things fall apart. Sounds like Bill to me.

Let someone else do that stuff. Someone with more organizational skills. All you have to do is make it clear that the guy has your authority, and is answerable to you, and you can go about being the DC the same as always. I don't get these people that want him to have his input in every part of the team. All he needs is guys that he can trust, for them to keep him informed, and show him results. Who says it has to be done a certain way. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Ask Maine. I'll bet he knows a lot of ways.
In your opinion, would the Jets have been better off if they had been able to snag a vet HC like Cowher or Gruden, and gotten Rex as their DC? Or are his contributions as the new culture-changing face of the franchise far too important?

and we've also featured three consecutive seasons of top five defensive play (for the first time in franchise history).
NY Jets 1964-1970. Seven consecutive seasons under Walt Michaels' defense.

I wonder what Browns fans were saying after Bill Belichick's 3rd season as HC after a career as a DC? What is your opinion on that?

The Art of War is governed by 5 constant factors. Moral Law, Heaven, Earth, The Commander, By Method & Discipline. These five heads should be familiar to every General. He who knows them will be victorious, he who knows them will not fail.

Nice article and enjoyed the read, thanks.

Hope that Rex will finally calm down. Now since he lost some weight. And that he will find team unity.

Isn't that the year the Browns beat the Patriots in the playoffs? I think they were pretty happy.
