I'm going to keep my expectations in check here. Otah was really good.

I hope that he can just stay healthy and perform at an average level this year. That would still be a massive improvement over last year.

erThis is a big move with a lot of potential, all depends on where Otah is exactly with his health and conditioning.

Searching twitter for some of the inside guys, apparently, Otah is ready to go.

Still wondering how much intel the Jets did on Otah before making the move.

Very intriguing. Not only is Otah a significant upgrade, he's a former #19 overall pick, 26 years old. Obviously, health is key, hopefully this is a move where the player needed a change of scenery.

Hunter still brings very good depth to the OL at OT.

Landry has a "foot issue?" LOL. Okay.

It wouldn't be his yet to be healed achilles would it?

If Jeff Otah can return to previous form?

    LT: D;Brickashaw Ferguson.
    LG: Matt Slauson.
    C: Nick Mangold.
    RG: Brandon Moore.
    RT: Jeff Otah.

This offensive line has the ability/potential to become a truly dominant for Sparano/Sanchez and our entire offense to work with.

great move if he's healthy. I'm not so sure he is. Now the team has admitted they have little confidence in Hunter and if Otah isn't healthy things could get ugly. Might have been a safer move just to go get Vernon Carey....

What are the bonus and how are they triggered?

I love the move. Competition is always a great thing and Wayne Hunter up until now had no competition for his job. Did anyone really think Vlad was going to compete for the job?

There's some "IF's" that go with Otah though. If he can recover and stay healthy, he'll transform our OL. It's possible he could transform the OL into one comparable of 2009. That would truly be a great thing.

the jets can always need depth. a conditional pick may be a bargain if the guy can get healthy and motivated. on the other hand hunter is also a pretty big guy and doesn't get injured. if he can learn the position better then the jets will be fine.

Ah, the signing bonus, thank you.

This is a HR or strike out move and given the fact he practically hasn't played in 2 years it shows the Jets are probably still pretty confident with Hunter.

Jets traded conditional 7th-round pick to Panthers for Jeff Otah. Panthers traded conditional 7th-round pick to Oakland for Louis Murphy.
