Matt Harvey - Welcome to the Bigs!

5 1/3 11 Ks 3 hits 0 runs. He was throwing gas!! Also ripped a double to straight away center and had another hit.

He's the first pitcher in modern baseball history to strike out double digits and have 2 hits in his major league baseball debut.

    Welcome to the show kid!!

Great debut but too bad its the only good news involving the Mets right now. At least the future looks bright with Harvey, hopefully Wheeler next year and Dickeky, Niese and even Mejia.

Its possible they could actually have pitching depth!

Now they jus need to dump Bay, sign Wright and spend some money on the bullpen and lineup and maybe next year wont be over by August.

Keeping Wright here are fixing the bullpen should be our top two offseason objectives.

How many years does Johan have left? Any chance we move move him, pick up some of the contract and get some prospeccts in return? He could be of value if we eat some of the contract no? And by having someone pay a portion of the remaining balance we'll save money.

Santana is just about finished as a starter, maybe a reliever?

Year and a half left, plus an option for 2014.

I see trade as unlikely though, A) We still need him in our rotation if we have any plans of contending next year and B) He's due such a staggering amount of money (25.5 salary next year, 5.5 mil buyout) that you're talking having to eat a ton of money.

You can do a lot worse then Dickey, Santana, Niese, Gee, Harvey in some order for next year, with Wheeler still at AAA to get a little more seasoning. Hell, that might be one of the best rotations in the NL.
