where do you sail out of? I used to "offshore" in the Long Island Sound and now, once in a while, near Nyack.

Nice Hobie Cat. I would love to have (or try out) one of their Mirage Drive kayaks, maybe the one with the outriggers and sails.

Edit: Ha, I'm on my droid and didn't see you just answer the same question.

Since I started the thread, I should list my own (most already know of curse, this not being a new thread idea or anything).

    1. Music, especially Floyd, but generally navel gazzy epic soaring folky progyness.

    2. The Jets & the NFL. Duh. But not sports in general.

    3. Guitars. Not playing them per se, but appreciating them as art (since I have no talent). Ties into Music love.

    4. Fishing, sadly a semi-abandoned hobby, but especially Inshore Saltwater or Catfishing.

    5. Sci-Fi

    6. Millitary History, esp. WWII

    7. Video Games (embassing at my age, but I'm a gamer still)

    8. Socio-Political Talk

    9. Travel, more the wife, but it's growing on me.

    10. Astronomy

Another excellent drill is to put a bucket of tennis balls at the service T; pick one ball, execute the serve, and 3 quick steps ending with the split step. Then lunge down, get another ball and repeat as much as possible.

I'm killing out there; they see me firing that ball in the air and not one person will ask to try, even though my serve has reached another level.

I played at a fairly high level until 2 years ago, then 2nd kid arrived and I didn't have enough time. I'm lucky to have 2 courts in my apartment complex with a few guys who can hit. So I've gradually got back to playing regularly.

Wow... Can't say I've seen a can of Piels in several decades. Is it still brewed in Brooklyn?

I remember buying Piels for $1.65 a six pack as a kid. I guess I'm dating myself.

RIJetfan: I was on beach 2 last Sunday. Saw at least two large races going on. Wish I had my binoculars.

Warfish: One more week till MSL and the amazing skycrane land on Mars.Any plans to stay up and watch it? Some events around the country including I think one in Wayne?

The guy that owns the boat insist on two things:

    1. The beer must be in cans and;

    2. It has to really cheap old-time beer--we try to outdo ourselves with Schaeffer and Rheingold and Pabst and Piels.

I brought Stella in cans once and he almost didn't allow me aboard.

Always some kind of interesting regatta going on around these parts. I've been working too much to do as many of them as I would like.

I have a strict cans only policy on my boat, although I have no objection to imports.

Mine is 41 feet, which also makes it suitable for cruising, family vacations, etc...

We were only allowed imports on the trip up to Newport from Jersey City, and the only bottles allowed were for the vodka for the Bloody Mary's.

Yeah, you're cooked. After #2, it was 10 years before I had a game again.
