Hate to hear that about Pace ... Especially since he is so damn expensive.

    +1

I was hoping that with the improved D-Line that his production would go up this year as well, but I guess all of the lazy comments about him coming out of Arizona when we signed him weren't baseless.

This would help explain his up and down performances as well.

I've thought Pace is lazy since he got hurt after his 1st season with the Jets. The contract that never seems to go away. He has been a colossal FA bust.

And the sad thing is he has the potential to be downright dominant. Thankfully, that contract will be off the books next year.

Awesome. Saw a report that Sanchez put on some muscle. Was it noticeable?

Thanks for posting. I have a few questions, if you don't mind.

Sanchez is obviously the better thrower... did the gap look even wider when they're next to one another?

What about Coples and Lankster stood out to you?

And about Maybin. Everything that guy does on the field is balls out. Which is why I like him so much. It's hard not to root for a guy who puts it all out there. I think he's destined for good things. When you have effort combined with his speed, there's usually positive results.

I wouldn't call him a colossal bust because he has come up big in some games, just not enough of them. Disappointing? For sure.

Good coaching doesn't hurt, either. There's a better chance he will continue to evolve under Rex moreso than if he were still on the Bills or someplace else.

Oh I agree. Good coaches are absolutely a big part of getting the most out of a player. I'm sure Maybin is thankful he plays for one of the best (or THE best, if you ask Rex)

You guys are funny, second day of a meaningless camp (for him) and you want him to burn it up.....right, that's going to happen. It's a marathon for a guy in his job. Try to keep that in mind.
I tried to not comment during the off season/pre-season but this is silly.

So I guess you subscribe to the "past performance does not guarantee future results" mantra?

It's true that this is a marathon, but Pace has been underwhelming here to say the least. Considering that he's not the hardest worker out there, his lackluster performance as a Jet is not all that surprising.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that if he were the type to bring it every practice, he would have had a better time here.

This is, of course, assuming that practice today was just a sample of what is "normal" for these guys. Maybe Pace was sick or had an off day. But I get the feeling he's always been a little on the lazy side.

No way; Pace is a monster, but the only guy we have until (hopefully) now. He's double teamed constantly. The Jets stop the run and confuse the passer. Let's get that interior push and Pace will go to the pro bowl.

    Old too
