Antonio Cromartie: Im the second-best receiver on the*Jets

Antonio Cromartie is still listed as a cornerback, and not a wide receiver. But Cromartie says that if the Jets go through with plans to give him an extensive role in the offense, hell be the second-best receiver on the team.

Cromartie said today on ESPN First Take that if he has to rank himself within the Jets receiving corps, hed say hes the No. 2 option on the team.

I think Id put myself as second, Cromartie said. I havent really played it in the past four or five years, but I can put myself as the second just with raw ability and talent going out there, I think, me separating and being a more physical guy out there on the outside.

Santonio Holmes is the Jets No. 1 receiver, but Cromartie apparently thinks hes better than the teams other receivers, including Chaz Schilens, Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill.

Kerley is a more of a slot receiver, hes a slot guy, Cromartie said. Stephen Hill is a younger guy that can get down the field. I think, for me, I can run every single route in the rou

Cro, just because you're the 2nd biggest moron on the team behind Holmes, that does not make you the #2 receiver.

Lolz. God help us if the other WR's on the team are less physical than Cromartie

He may be right. He's an amazingly gifted athlete and could very well be able to become our best WR behind only Santonio Holmes. Unfortunately for the Jets along with Cromartie himself; he's way too important on the defensive side of the ball, as a very good-to-great coverage corner, to risk potential injury as an offensive WR on a consistent basis. With all that said, having Cromartie line up at WR a good 2-4 times per game/week? Sign me up. Anything to gain an offensive advantage, hopefully he's able to stay healthy while doing so. I could picture both Cromartie and Hill on the outside, with both Holmes and Keller working the inside (slots) from time to time.

    LOL.

Since we are letting guys play both ways we should stick Wilkerson at RT.

If Cro's hurts himself playing WR and we have to start Wilson, I will be calling for a regime change.

So, you decide to take one play and harp all over it throughout the course of a players entire career? Nice to know. Just goes to show what type of fan you are. A fan who thinks and/or post's with an agenda.
