LilMissNYJet (Blogger / Podcaster) Last year, #Jets second-team defense couldn't scare a fly..... This year? Totally different.

Schilens says he talked to Ryan and Cromartie about comments. Says he could've handled it differently. Cool with Cro.

Schilens says Cromartie is "a helluva player and can play wide receiver any time." Adds that scrutiny "a little different from Oakland"

I know its camp, but I don't remember the last time there was so much promise in our defense both starters and depth across the dl, lb, and secondary

Anyone know--is Steed playing CB or S?

I remember his predraft write-up said he could play both and possibly transition to FS in the pros, same thing after we signed him.

    Anyone?

Santonio Holmes says he doesn't know the timetable of his return. Has soreness + tightness all over body, didn't pinpoint a muscle.

maybe he's upset over his contract

MMehtaNYDN (Beat Writer / Columnist) I began question to @Mark_Sanchez this way: "Hey, Tim...". Laughter ensues. Few min later, he says, "Hey, Rich (Cimini). Got a question"

janesports (Beat Writer / Columnist) Chaz Schilens said air is cleared, and he's never experienced anything like the way things get covered with the Jets. Not like Oakland.

Talking OPINIONS SPLIT ON SANCHEZ/ TEBOW TRIAL BALLOON

    www.nfl.com

==The Truth: Mark Sanchez/Tim Tebow will work.

Let me give it to you in the simplest of terms. Tebow is the backup quarterback and will run the Wildcat. He is an upgrade over Mark Brunell. And because he is the omnipresent Timothy Richard Tebow, he will light a fire under Sanchez. In fact, he already has.

Sanchez made too many turnovers in big spots last season and lost the team. The Jets smartly moved to spark him. Talking to Sanchez, you hear an edge, a seriousness to him that hadn't been evident in his first three years. He is now the first guy in the building and the last one to leave.

New offensive coordinator Tony Sparano is key. He has a no-nonsense style, and Sanchez has responded to his coaching. Sparano will run the ball, unlike former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who ruined Christmas with the 59 passes he had Sanchez attempt in a Dec. 24 loss to the Giants. Tebow is Sparano's New York version of Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown
