    Vernon Carey officially retires.......

Former Dolphins G/T Vernon Carey has retired from football.
He's reportedly taken a co-offensive line coach job in high school. Carey, the 19th overall pick in the 2004 draft, drew light interest from the Jets and Dolphins this offseason, but it never went anywhere. The 32-year-old will hang up his cleats after 107 career starts. Carey played both tackle spots and guard.

He was never really an option, so nothing has changed.

Either that, or we'll come out of the first two games with some renewed faith in the OL.

One way or another, the first two weeks will tell us a lot about Sparano and the new offense, specifically up front.

He's got to share an Oline coaching job in High School? Was the full gig too much work?

I wonder what co-Oline Coach at a high school pays...

Please. Both of those guys would eat Vernon Carey for lunch if he started at Right Tackle.

We didn't sign Carey b/c he's a Guard and we already had Moore and Slauson. Carey at RG was arguably just as good or better than Moore but Moore is entrenched here and one of the better lockerroom guys on this roster. Carey probably wanted a starting job and starter $$.
