The Nike uniforms look ugly. I blame this on the poor underage slave workers that Nike pays with coins to create their crappy sneakers and attire.
It makes little difference, because they look so ugly, but the real culprit here is the different fabrics that Nike decided to use. In the name of making a very good piece of technical equipment they screwed up the colors because each fabric reflects light differently.
At least we're not alone, not like Nike picked on the Jets. Other teams, however, realized that this was going to look weak and so they put accent stripes under the arms in an attempt to hide the sweaty parts. There's no getting away from the doghouse door though.
You can see how different lighting affects the colors. In this shot from the unveiling, the opposite of what happened tonight can be seen.
What the hell. It looks like they turn black when they sweat on the side back and marsupial pouch.
The jersey looks streaky and like a patchwork quilt. Which self respecting Jets fan would be caught dead in that $hit? Even the blue and mustard Titan jersey from last year looks better than the Nascar hodge podge look they are currently sporting. Looks like a clown outfit. Certainly not shelling out $200 or 200 rupees for that crap
I thought it was very noticeable on the 49ers jerseys as well. I'm assuming that it will look really bad with any home jersey (doesn't seem to effect the white away jerseys). Probably the only team won't have this issue is the Saints due to the fact that their jerseys are black.
Either way, I hate these new jerseys. I can only hope that the NFL and Nike will get this sorted out or something. Not that I expect that to happen, though.
