7-9 unless we upgrade our O-line.

I know Rex sees this disaster happening before his eyes. There's only so much coaching you can do. You just aren't going to get acceptable results if you do not have the talent. I can't see Rex allowing us to go into the season with just Wayne Hunter at RT. That's like sending Sanchez off with the Titanic.

Back on point, I think some Rt will be added and that will make our OL woes settle down quite a bit, allowing for a more productive running game and better protection for Sanchez. The defense will be better than #5 overall. I can easily see them being ranked top 3, if not number 1.

That is it in a nutshell. A good productive running game and great defense is a time honored recipe for getting into the playoffs.

Wouldn't surprise me if Tanny grabs someone off the scrap heap to try to shore up that shaky OL, but reality is there's no one out there there will be much of an improvement. And even if he finds a diamond in the rough, I don't think you have the right mix of RBs to be effective at "ground and pound" anyway. D should be good as usual, although I honestly think they were overrated last year at #5 overall, but 20th in points allowed. I just can't see the Jets as a playoff team this year.

Final Record: 6-10. Maybe they split a W-L with Buffalo to up it to 7-9, at best.

I don't know how people are thinking the Jets will beat the Texans. They were in the playoffs with their 3rd string QB.

"Wisdom of the Crowds" suggests that when you combine the guesses of a large group of people, they tend to be pretty accurate.

So far we have 55 estimates for next season:

    average W: 8.6
    average L: 7.4

7-9 unfortunately... Good D, but weak offense does us in...

My prediction is 11-5 second in Division.

We start off losing to buffalo and everyone hits the bottle
we then win two straight to get to 2-1 and everyone is feeling better.
San Fran ends the party and knocks out Sanchez in the first Qtr. He doesnt return and jets get spanked.
Tebow has an amazing game and beats Houston in a thriller so jets are 3-2
Jets crush Indy to go to 4-2. sanchez gets surgery and out for season.
    New England crushes Jets
Miami upsets Jets after many Jets miscues jets are 4-4 at halfway point
Tebow has horrible game and loses to seattle jets 4-5
Jets comeback nicely with win at Rams. Defense dominates against Shotty offense. tebow struggles but minimizes mistakes. jets at 5-5
McElroy makes his debut at qb to mess up NE game plan for Tebow. Jets shock them in big win to go 6-5
McElroy wins out to get to 11-5
the rest is not clear lol

you do realize there was no game planning involved it was just line up an hit. minus the blocked punt the score is 10-6

Unless Rex and Tanny are hiding some OL help in the Jet locker room we won't be any better than 8-8. Our D will wear down being on the field after all those 3 and outs by our offense.

You can't worry about going 3 and out in a preseason game where they had no plans to do anything but hike the ball on time without going offsides lol. Sure things could have looked better but the main thing is they avoided any major injuries hopefully unlike what happened to cincy. They are getting reps in and evaluating which is all you can expect week 1 of pre season. We should get a much better idea weeks 2 and 3.

    1-4 with Sanchez
    11-0 with Tebow

The image of the Virgin Mary in my CoCo Puffs confirmed this

Yes because losing to Buffalo twice is completely realistic

Honestly, you never want to put too much stock in the first game, but I think it could be very telling to our season. Losing to the Bills at home with a brutal stretch coming up after that would be very troubling. I'd almost go so far as to say if we drop that first home game to the Bills, the season is already in major trouble. Heading to Pittsburgh for week 2 isn't exactly the cure for a bad opening game performance.

Although it is good it will be a litmus test to see what we can expect from this Jets team in 2012. Buffalo despite some upgrades is still a pretender in my eyes. You cannot drop a home game to them and expect to be taken seriously.
