I'd say if Tebow keeps working on his mechanics(I hear is is making progress), and Mark struggles, or still doesn't look in control out there, then next year could be an open competition. That's as far as I'm willing to go. I do give Tebow credit for being humble enough to try and change.

But he followed it up with this.
He stopped, then added: “Not necessarily prepared, but if you’re not defending it well, why wouldn’t we run it? You’re going to run something until they stop it.”
That tells me that once Tebow's out there, they don't plan on taking him out if he's effective. So it's really up to Sanchez and Tebow. Whoever is most effective gets to stay in. Seems pretty fair to me and actually makes sense.

I've learned that all these practice reports do is get fans hopes up.

    See Bilal Powell.

We'll see what he does on Saturday, but it certainly looks like that was a whole lot of talk about nothing. Kind of like when Rex would tell us how the Ghost was lighting it up in practice.

Yeah well that's the exact opposite of what we did last year. We can't stop their pass rush so if we run some deep posts they'll never expect it.

Yes but why would the opposite not also be true?

I assume the wink is to indicate that you didn't actually take that literally.

It's shows that practice is practice and games are games. I think there is a stronger correlation between team performance in practice and games than there is for individuals.

If a fan gets that excited off of reports of someone in practice, then gives up hope after 2 quarters of a pre season game, they deserve to be let down.

Well let's just say if Tebow actually does get 50 snaps per game, then the Jets will become a spread option offense with a new QB and will feature a Mark Sanchez starting drive "package".

if Tebow gets 50 snaps a game, we go 4-12.

You really think the Jets are going to allow Mark to run up an 0-12 record before switching over?

We need to see Powell behind the first team OL first, I don't doubt he's had a good camp, it was easy to see protection and blocking schemes broke down for a lot of the time he was in last Thursday.

The camp reports charting stats for the QB's means nothing.
