agreed! But with BILL POLIAN available he would be a great GM for us.

All of Tannenbaum's decisions this offseason have been questionable or just plain stupid:

    1) flirt with Manning, feel bad for Sanchez and then extend him

    2) don't sign Eric Winston or anyone else as a RT upgrade

    3) guarantee Wayne Hunter's salary

    4) take a DL with the first round pick even though that's our strongest position and ignore several great OL who could have started at RT the first day of practice

    5) wait for OL until the 6th round

    6) no upgrade of RB

    7) bring in the whole Tebow circus

    8) no other viable QB on the roster who can actually throw the ball

I truly believe he lets his HC run the draft and FA. Like 80/20.

Rex literally complained in a press conference about taking Hill in the 2nd round. Referred to him as a "Tannenbaum pick".

Front offices win championships (Steelers, Lakers, Yankees...and yes, the Pats, as much as I hate to say it).

The Hunter situation is emblematic of this franchise's front office.

A good QB would have hit hill in stride for a good gain. Which has been Sanchez problem the last 3 years. He just does not put the ball were it should go.

and I don't know football? WTF are you talking about? a decent QB does not make that ridiculous throw man, are you dense? a Good QB would have thrown the ball away. a Great QB would have made something positive happen. He had time on that play, sorry. No excuse for that.

Our front office twittled their thumbs this offseason when it came it upgrading the offense.

They hire the coach of a team who's offense stunk to run our offense.

They know Wayne Hunter can't block a door and they give him $$$/extension.

They smartly pick up a good backup QB and then give him away for nothing and spend 3/4 of our cap on a backup QB who can't throw.

They pick up NO good WR FA's to replace an already depleted WR core when there were plenty available... Hell the Pats worst receivers are better than our starting receivers.

To top it all off, our special teams unit has more f#$* ups in 2 preseason games than most teams have in an entire season. Did Mike Westhoff retire already??? It seems like it.

Didn't we go through this same scoring drought last preseason? This season is doomed, yea I said it! This is what happens when you have a DC coaching your team and your FO is filled with a bunch of morons who have no idea how to evaluate personnel and fill holes accordingly.

Jets need a football man as GM who can handle Rex and knows pro personnel. Until this happens, we are doomed to more futility. TANNENBAUM MUST GO--THEN REX!

Do the Jets personal staff have meetings in the off season on what to improve on? Let's see we had no blocking TE last year and still don't, our RT issue wasn't addressed, our WR wasn't upgraded to compliment Holmes (Hill is unproven and could be good) and what about our punting situation left the same! A common Jet fan could of addressed these needs. This is crazy.

We don't have football people calling the shots. We should go beg Polian or Cowher or Mangini (obviously a total pipe dream)to be our general manager and after a couple patient years we can draft some guys and build a team. This obviously won't happen in our lifetime with Woody running the helm. The second Mangini was fired, front office proficiency went out the window- should be extremely telling that out GM puts that much faith in the coaching staff. That's not why the GM position exists. Magically we start drafting a ton of defense and trade for our offense? I wonder why....because Rex only knows one side of the ball, Tannenbaum knows neither, Mangini cut his teeth in the film room and is as good a personnel scout as any, and Woody simply knows how to make a splash and promote and market a product. We will not win football games this way. The Mangini personnel are almost all gone.

    +1

It is because he courts the media and makes their job easy by providing tons of reality show material for the lazy ones to write about.

He is a jumped up tea boy who is completely over matched going into year-7 of his tenure. Some of us have been talking about this for a while but there has been an army of idiots on the other side.
