I think Sanchez is suffering from David Carr Syndrome.

He has little to no confidence in his OL and is prone to making mistakes.

Tannenbaum has helped to put him in that position.

Polian would be a great idea. Whomever said he's awful is clueless. Go check his track record.

This obviously won't happen in our lifetime with Woody running the helm. The second Mangini was fired, front office proficiency went out the window- should be extremely telling that out GM puts that much faith in the coaching staff. That's not why the GM position exists. Magically we start drafting a ton of defense and trade for our offense? I wonder why....because Rex only knows one side of the ball, Tannenbaum knows neither, Mangini cut his teeth in the film room and is as good a personnel scout as any, and Woody simply knows how to make a splash and promote and market a product. We will not win football games this way. The Mangini personnel are almost all gone.
It's painfully obvious that Mangini left the Jets with a solid roster upon his departure which Rex was able to coach up and get to the AFC championship. It's telling that every subsequent year since his departure the team personnel has deteriorated, except for the few high draft defense picks. Rex was right when he said he would have coached the SD Chargers to a SB by now, but that's as much an indictment of himself as anything.

I think with the Colts he was underwhelming given what he had at QB (granted the argument has been made that Manning has been a decidedly mediocre playoff QB) but he put together quite a team up in Buffalo before leaving for the Colts.

They should reinstate him as a cap specialist and hire a real general manager.
How can anyone keep their job going 0-2 in the preseason!

You think everyone is looking at the record to form opinions?

Agreed....last night the JETS so called D made Carr look like a franchise QB.

Tannenbaum's overall record is pretty good. There was no huge call for him to be fired during the preseason, so yes I do believe there are a fair amount of knee-jerk reactions to the poor start to the preseason.

The thing that confuses me with this FO approach is their thinking. All we heard from Rex is ground and pound but its year 4 and we still don't have the personnel on offense to complement this system. A horrible RT, two receiving TE's who can't block, a average back with no home run hitter out the back field and no decent O line depth . Makes you wonder are they really that clueless or the moves have to be more splashy for Woody to approve.

This team will not win 3 games this year like this.

They completely ignored offensive holes and deliberately brought in a QB controversey.
Best post of the year i'm guessing. Nothing more really needs to be said

They haven't had a losing season yet and have won four playoff games in three
years. So it maybe it isn't such a great post.

I am a fan too, but I don't believe in firing people just to fire people. Who the f*ck is better? They deserve more time, they've earned it.

They deserve more time. We should put that in a trophy box right next to the giants Lombardy trophies. I'm done whistling that tune. Been way to long.

People hate on him alot. He certainly wasnt the best HC.

But the guy, IMO, had a knack for building a roster core.

I'm as frustrated as you, but continuity pays off. Look at all the successful franchises. Rex's biggest enemy has been his mouth. He should just shut-up and coach. I personally think he is a good HC.

I thought so too until last year when he didn't realize Holmes had been pulled. Where there's smoke there's fire. His mouth needed to be shut two years ago. He put a target on every player in a jets uniform. Every team plays a little more balls out against us and it's his big mouths fault. He has this year but that should be it. The giant fans alone are all I can deal with.

If you don't play ball out all the time you die in this league.

I don't see a huge call. I see one thread. But the the thread brings up a very valid notion.

Personally, I've never liked Tannenbaum as a GM and have said so here for a long time.

Anyone with a modicum of football knowledge could see several months ago, when the notion of "ground and pound" was brought up, that this team doesn't have the pesonnel to play "ground and pound."

Exactly. We have been talking about these problems for months. Even dating back to last season.

They have done nothing to fix them. They had an entire off season. It is too late now. The bed is made. And the season is about to go asleep.
