really, who do you think they are going to get? guarantee there will be nothing of value or consequence to be had other wise why would they get cut? IMO the only way we could improve would be through trade, which is a controversial move at best.

Who would trade for this guy?
a team who want their starter to get injured so they can start the backup

Of course he would have been....with Brees throwing to him too

2010 was not a very good year at Tackle......Vlad was not the only crap Tackle that year....and after Vlad there was only 1 decent OLineman taken

Tannenbaum says fans should anticipate Labor Day weekend to be "a mini-draft for us." So, #Jets roster far from finalized.

If he said that its an indictment on his drafting and personnel decisions.
He does this every final cut down weekend...

Go back and look what he does...He always claims 3-5 players that are waived by other teams..

    Examples:
    Dixon
    PTurner
    Schlauderaff (trade)
The WR cut from St Louis Mardy Gilyard that lasted a week (he was a 4th round pick at one time)
The Safety from Dallas that lasted a week
    Jarron Gilbert

Those are just off the top of my head..

Excellent, been posting the same sentiment for months. Spot on SMC!

And if the Jets drafted a receiving TE while we already had Keller you and every other alarmist SOJF would be killing the front office. Also, what good is another receiving TE when the QB has no time to throw?

At least, we as an organization have an identity......prior to this regime, we were never great on either side of the ball. I'm glad we have Rex, and he's proud of our "precious" defense

WHen you think Pats, Saints, Packers you think offense
When you think Ravens, 49ers, Jets you think defense

Charles Brown out of USC was a better prospect then Ducasse IMO.

There are always a few good players every year that fall through the cracks at final cuts. Guys making moderate $$ who have cheap rookies performing almost as well. Teams make the financial decision to let the vets go based on cost not skill. Or maybe the team just happens to be deep at that position.

Problem is there's no way to make sure one of those guys let go is a RT. And Arizona is going to be hunting them as well, among other teams.

The Jets could get lucky. But it's no way to run an organization. Do you see the Giants or Packers hoping a starter will magically falls to them ?

We have an identity? Really? You think its DEFENSE?

The top achievement of this current regime is the two AFC Championship games reached in years one and two.

The DEFENSE lost the lead from halftime game one resulting in a loss to the Colts and the DEFENSE spotted to Steelers 24 points to start the game the second time.

Rex' DEFENSE seem to come up small in big moments.

Team's that have DEFENSE as their identity do not give up 99 yard TDs to Victor Cruz in a must win and let Tim Tebow march down the field on the final drive for a victory.

pickups from final cuts should be seen as a total bonus, not guys you are counting on to start

    This x1000

The Jets, under Tanny/Rex have sunk a ton of money in Mangold and Dbrick. Drafted a QB with a high first round pick, traded up to get a RB (Greene), took Hill in the second round this year. Went out and aggressively traded for Holmes and Braylon.

This notion that Rex/Tanny ignore the offense is utter nonsense and stupidity. If you guys don't think the Jets wanted to replace Hunter this offseason, you are nuts. But they had limited resources (thanks in part to the money they spent on Mangold and Dbrick). I am sure they will be active and try to replace Hunter leading up to the season. They have a history of being aggressive to fix holes in their offense.

They should could Hunter, leave that position vacant and save the salary cap room. It's not like it would be any differenty if no one was at Right Tackle.

I agree Rex has some Defensive game, but dropping points like that starts to take away a little bit from the glory.

I think this season they will be much improved in getting some pressure on QB's.

The Giants have a far superior defensive unit right now.

Nothing will make you happy. I feel sorry for you.

Rex is a defensive coach who is just now drafting and getting the players in place for his defense to work. Not sure we've ever had a better defense then the one we'll put out there this year.

No, we don't have either Manning, Big Ben or Brady. But, with Rex and his defense, he has us knocking on the door

I agree to a point, but OLINE failed the JETS last season, it all starts on the OLINE. Knowing this, the JETS give up picks to get, what many believe was an unnecessary player in Tebow, well you are open to high criticism.
