    MJD open to being traded.

Can we send Greene, Hunter, Tebow, Tannenbaum for MJD?

He would be exactly what this team needs (aside from a RT), but I seriously doubt they can afford him.

    Step 1: trade for MJD

Step 2: make Tebow gain 50 pounds and move him to RT

    Step 3: ???

    Step 4: Championship!!

Pats have picks to play with. Can you imagine them getting MJD.

Jets are not getting him. We don't have the money or the room.

Chargers, Pats, Skins, Saints, Steelers and Lions are places I think he could end up if traded.

    That's the formula!

I would love to have MJD, but there are 2 issues:

First off, I am sure Jacksonville would demand large compensation to make the trade.

If the trade actually were to happen:

MJD has two years remaining on his contract. Before he would report he would want a new deal, we just denied Revis a similar request. How do you think Revis would react if they honored MJD's request?

hahaha I just posted about this on another board... imagine the mini draft
involved solving RT and getting a new RB (MJD)

The trade would be contingent on him singing a long term deal. No team is trading pics for a rental..So ultimately MJD has final say on where he goes because he would need his print on the dotted line. We will be in the same spot next year with Revis.

The original proposal includes Tebow, maybe we can replace Tebow in the trade ....let's say we send Chaz Schillens, Cromartie is a better WR anyway.

Would love MJD but theres no way its happening. Don't have the ammo to trade for him and the Jets definitely dont have the money to give him a new contract.

Actually you are correct. Effectively it would be a "sign and trade" by Jacksonville.

There are no "sign and trades" in football. You're thinking of basketball.

There are no trades in football that are "contingent" on long term deals or anything else. You guys are thinking of other sports, and trying to apply the rules of other sports to football.

He knows that! In this situation the Jags can trade him to any team. But the trade will most likely only become official if he can reach a long term deal with the team that traded for him. The team that trades for him could make the deal without having him sign but it would be dumb as MJD wont report until he has a deal.

Wrong! Teams have made trades and given the other team 48 hours to sign the player to a long term deal. If not deal is reached the trade is off.
