I don't think this is actually true. Harris and Holmes have a higher 2012 salary and Mark has a higher 2012 bonus.

Even if we look at who has made more money career, i think Mark has him beat.

Kinda makes you think, how a guy who is a 4x Pro Bowl, 3x All Pro, 2009 defensive player of the year, #5 on the NFLN top 100, makes less than Mark sanchez who has no honors and isn't even considered above average for his position.

One is a QB, the other is a CB.

I am curious to know what Sanchez and Revis were talking about on the sidelines last Friday in the 2nd half. They appeared to be having a friendly, yet animated, conversation.

So what? One is great the other is bad. there are other QB's out there.

a couple guys said Revis is the highest paid Jet it's just not true.

this thread wonders what the jets can do to support Mark Sanchez, we should wonder when Mark Sanchez will live up to his salary.

Mark is being paid like a star and he's playing like crap. When's the last time he threw downfield? Was it 2010? check the jayron hosley pick 6 he had all day to throw. He's not getting better and it's time to be worried.

Mark was drafted at a time where QB rookies were getting monster deals. Our next QB that we draft, and who stinks, won't bother you so much since he'll be on the new Rookie wage scale. you'll have to find another issue to harp on in EVERY SINGLE THREAD THAT YOU POST IN.

When's the last time he was provided with a WR who can get downfield and beat coverage? 2010? Hmm.

Please stop your hate agenda. The WR's and the OL on this team are very suspect. Do you think that has anything to do with what you are complaining about?

Ask all of the Buffalo Bills not named Mario Williams how they feel about Ryan Fitzpatrick's contract.

Because the same genius who guaranteed Wayne Hunter $2.75 million when no other team had any interest in him is writing the contracts.

Revisionist history. No one was saying those things about Holmes when they signed him to that big deal.

Bit's point is a valid one. Sure the Jets offense isnt full of world beaters but no offense in the NFL is full of elite talent. Sanchez NEEDS to elevate his game this season to make up for the "lack" of talent on the offensive side of the ball. To date, he has been paid to do that. Time for him to man up and show us he is a legitimate top 10 QB in this league. If he cannot do that its high time to start searching for another QB who can.

    First Read, Second Read

Was reading an article about Mark Sanchez and it said something to the effect of "taking the ball from center, Mark knows exactly where his first read is and where it's going. If that read is not an available, instead of going through his progressions, Mark's second read is to take eyes off of what is going on down field to assess how his offensive line is holding up."

I think this pretty right on. It's obvious that when he drops back, he's expecting to get hit hard.

What are your thoughts on this?

Sorry dude, at times guys are getting open down field, Sanchez is not standing in there to make the throws and is getting jittery even on plays there is time to throw. Sparano even said they had about 4 ops to go deep last game and didn't take them.

As has been stated before, no one has an issue with Sanchez when hunter whiffs and he gets buried. We do have an issue when he has time and a guy open and fails on the play which happens too often.

did sparano say that sanchez had 4 opps, or the entire offense? b/c sanchez may have only had 1.

Rex wants ground & pound, clock burning drives.

Greene is a mule; scares only himself.

MJD = ground & pound in sensurround.

Imagine the overnight transformation from dud to stud offense.

Ignite the passing game as well.

    From pretender to contender.

For a guy who supposedly follows football and does draft "analysis", your understanding of how rookie salaries, especially those in top 5 picks, work. You have been complaining how much money Mark makes for 2 years now, and when confronted with the fact that his salary was based on his draft slot and position he plays, you have nothing to say.

How did his contract extension factor into that?

His extension didnt really add that much money to his deal he already had. It guaranteed next year which was not already guaranteed, and shifted money from this year to next. It added another NON guaranteed year for 2014. The reality of it all is that the Jets knew they would not be releasing Sanchez after this season, so guaranteeing the money for next year was not a big deal. Its still basically the same contract structure he signed when he joined the team, the only thing they gave was an extra 2 million for restructuring and a gift for the Jets inquiring about Manning.

Again, RBs don't make Ground and Pound work. The Oline does. Greene or MJD would be about the same in this current offense.

    That's bs.

Only if you're a straight-ahead one-gear runner like Greene. With no moves.

Ever think of running outside the edges?

Thanks, I didn't know the details of the extension.

So after 2013, the Jets would not be on the hook for a large cap hit?
