    Welcome Austin Howard

We have found our starting RT and I could not be happier to see this young guy doing well. He is getting the job done and hopefully, we will never have to look back. Howard is playing well and Sanchez looks much more composed back there behind a solid line.

Welcome Howard, we waited a long, long time for this.

Im not ready to anoint him yet, but he's done a fine job so far. Amazing how different Sanchez looks when he has time

Not that I want to make excuses for Wayne Hunter, but the Bengals and Giants both have a much better rush/defense than the Panthers. I wouldn't anoint the guy yet.

    Still, it's been encouraging.

Not in a one-on-one matchup. Stopping/slowing down Charles Johnson is about as impressive as it gets. . .

Wayne hunter didn't play against the bengals. Austin Howard did.

Not yet. But he gets a lot of credit for handling their best pass rusher

Not saying Austin Howard is all pro but Charles Johnson is an all pro defensive player and Carolina's best defensive player

The fact that he hasn't even really allowed pressure from that side is a great sign. Hopefully it stays that way

He's looked good so far but we'll see how he does against the better pas rushers.

Much better than I expected for his first start. We might have really lucked out with this one but I still won't be surprised when he eventually struggles in the reg season.

The difference of course is that Howard should actually improve as opposed to Hunter.

    The guy looks good.

No one said Pro Bowl, just giving Sanchez more time and comfort, that's all we can ask for right now folks with this band of merry men.

Now you're asking RT to be a STRENGTH -- let's just be happy if it's not too much of a WEAKNESS . . .

He's a great player, but I think JPP is a different breed.

But like I said, I'm not trying to take away from Howard. He's looked great tonight.

Teams get lucky all the time with these PS guys. It is our turn. Now if we can only find a skilled position diamond in the rough. ala Arian Foster.

He has played as well as we could have hoped. Looks like a serviceable RT. Need to see more but "Whew." The Jets may have averted certain disaster.

given our situation - the Howard experiment couldn't have gone any better. I mean honestly, it wasn't like he was going to step in and start blowing up DEs... think it went as well as one could hope.
