Two words: Derrick Mason. When you're done, you're done.

Why do you say he's done? He had his best ever NFL season last year.

He had 68 catches 947 yards last season with Rex Grossman and John Beck throwing to him.

And the season before that he had 65 catches 875 yards.
Sounds like a solid player to me.

I don't think this is the guy you want in the NY media.

    Plus he sucks.

The Hampur needs to fence its borders.

Who says hes done? hes 31 years old and had a career best season last year. I did find that he pulled his quad and is injured right now

Can't quantify. Just a vibe I'm getting. 31 year-old receivers, cut by other teams, give me the creeps.

31 years old. Gets to catch 70 passes in a horrible offense and scores 5 TDs. Big deal. Why does that make him worthy of a roster spot on our team with the only result being taking snaps from the Rookie we need desperately to develop?

He's sucked his entire career. 2 years of sub 1000 yard seasons doesn't change that. He might have played well, but HGH will do that. <--- since you want a hampur-esque bs line.

Normally, I would agree. But we're talking about a guy who had his best season last year and was cut by a team that is loaded at WR.

He would be a solid pickup at this point. Not much better is likely to shake loose in the next 10 days.
Yeah, when he was signed I thought he had the #3 wr locked up. He looked good in camp and ok in the preseason IMO, I am pretty surprised

Rookies are developed gradually. Hill is clearly not ready and needs to improve like most rookies. Having a season veteran can only help this team...and we need help now.

He is solid, but not explosive.
But we have an explosive player - Schilling.
Too bad he is not solid.

I sit here, enthralled, by the brilliant parsing of this post.

I'm not in the mood this season to wait for Stephen Hill to figure out how to be an NFL receiver. He's a talented kid but he's not ready for a starting role IMO. And I'm also concerned about a bad season with pressure from the fans and boos raining down, that it could hurt his confidence long-term. I'd rather he be brought along a little more slowly with a vet in front of him showing the way.

Have a feeling the Dolphins might scoop him up. They need a veteran WR on that team.

Gaffney has averaged 62 catches and 850 yards over the past 3 seasons.

we have enough guys with upside, we need a proven vet who can be a reliable target.
