Thread: Chris Cooley released

How can you not catch the ball anymore if you could catch the ball your whole life? I understand not being as fast as you used to be or not being able to block as well as you once could because you are older but catching the ball???
Curtis Conway. When we signed him, he developed the dropsies. Its probably mental, but it happens to guys. Fasano is damaged goods. Stay away.

We had a real bad run with #81's back then...

Justin McCareins was the same way.

Hold on, apparently he just wants to start.

He wouldn't start over Keller, but with our lack of receivers we could be running a lot of 2 TE sets this year.

I'm sure that Tanny is doing his due diligence, "no stone unturned" and all.

Adam Schefter just said the #Jets could be a potential landing spot for TE Chris Cooley.

    Make it happen, Schefty.

I read that he wants to start, but ya thats what I'm thinking too. New England seems to be doing pretty well with Aaron Hernandez and Gronkowski... would love to see a Cooley and Keller tight end duo over here.

he would be the 3rd best receiver and have plenty of chances. upgrades our receiver position but still need blocking TE

It would be a huge upgrade to our passing game if cooley is healthy and we can get him.

Can't block but can catch. I'd rather him than Jeff Cumberland.

Even if he plays 1/2 of the snaps it would still be an upgrade from what we currently have. It would be great to add any offensive weapons we can to support Sanchez.

If we got Cooley I'd still like to see one decent blocking TE added as well.

For those asking, don't expect free agent TE Chris Cooley to become a Jet.

The way we sign free agents, he's too good for us to sign.

    Chris Cooley

With the number of injured TE on our team and lack of a FB this would be a great pick up.

    Unless there is something wrong.

But if there is nothing wrong, it's a great move, hence Tanny will not got after him.

Apparently he wants to start at TE, so we would have to convince him he would be in on most plays at FB, or TE. Probably not what he wants to hear, and some people may not want to come here. Some people will keep srobbing about it like every player we didn't get didn't have other choices, and it's not necessarily Ts fault.

Cooley is as brittle as they come these days and doesn't even block as well as Keller. I don't know if it would be a good signing.

But I definitely think the Jets nab a blocking TE when more cuts are made around the league.
