Rex tipping hand on final 53? Schillens in, Sapp out?

In Rex's press conference today, per twitter:

Seth Walder ‏@SethWalderNYDN Ryan expects WRs Holmes, Kerley, Schilens all to play vs. Buffalo in week 1. #nyj http://nydn.us/PoMm6B

    Jets RapidReports ‏@CBSSportsNFLNYJ
Current injuries - defense: Po'uha (back), DeVito (calf), Harris (ankle), Smith (knee/hip), Bell (knee)

    Jets RapidReports ‏@CBSSportsNFLNYJ
Current injuries offense: Ferguson (back), Keller (hamstring), Schilens (ankle), Holmes (hmstrng), Kerley (hmstrng), Cumberland (concussion)

S Eric Smith is the main question mark for the #Jets season opener against Buffalo. Still dealing with hip injury sustained against Bengals.

I don't even know what Schillens number is. Has he been on the field or practice field at that, at all??

Depth on dline is sick. Pouha and Devito back in rotation, I can't wait.

Schilens better be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

As of right now, I'd rather cut him and roll the dice with the proven Gaffney

Schiliens makes this team, they don't have many better options. Also Sanjay Lal loves him. A lot of success in the NFL is having a champion.

Schilens is great. Just ask 90210.

I think he'll pleasantly surprise in the game or two he actually makes it onto the field.

Sapp is no big loss. I don't even remember him making a tackle so far this preseason or any play of any sort.

I guess. The potential is there, he just can't stay on the field.

Are you kidding me? The only way Schiz could be useful is if he can manage to cut defenders with his glassy body.

Schilens is so injury prone he makes chad pennington look durable.

Schilens entire body is made out of chad pennington's shoulder.

Our D is so stacked, I'd rather cut Sapp for Chaz.

That said, Chaz better produce better than all of Cro's sperm for the amount of leeway this organization has given him.

That's the point. Talking about players he expected to be ready week 1, he mentioned Schillens, but not Sapp. Talking about players he expected not to be ready week 1, he mentioned only Eric Smith. Sounds like he expects Schillens to be on the final roster, but not Sapp.

Sapp has a high ankle sprain, he's not ready for week 1.

No Black Helicopters in the area.

If we've learned anything about this two-headed monster of Rex and Tanny it's that we can't believe or rely on anything they might say or not say.

Up until yesterday, Rex was pleased to announce that Wayne Hunter was going back to swing tackle/jumbo TE. Now he's in St. Louis.

did rex say for which team he'd be going back to swing tackle/jumbo TE?

I found it funny how Rex didn't want to comment on Smith.

Schilens definitely makes the team. Lal hand-picked him. I hope he is better with his hand-picks than Rex.

Okay I should have left the Hunter sentence out and just went with my first comment.

Lal has a lot riding on his Schilens endorsement. he better be right.

I hope Schilens is not a reason for not signing a veteran WR. I still think Gaffney would be a perfect fit at this point.
