Vontae Davis getting traded on HK

I caught the end last night and was amused on how he reacted about being traded. Besides the first thing out of his mouth was calling his grandmother he couldn't wait to get of of the building and looked oblivious.

Horrible move by the Phins. Their secondary is garbage.

Davis will now be on a winner for the rest of his career. Luck will keep that team in the playoffs for the next 15. They won't be good for the next 2, but neither will the Dolphins. He should be happy.

Great move by the Fins. He wasnt even starting. To get a 2nd round pick for a back up player who they were not going to resign anyways is a smart move.
Especially when you are in rebuild mode and have no shot at competing this year.

I haven’t seen the episode yet, but I was surprised during the Jets HK how guys get cut. Litterally doesn’t spend more than a 1 minute explaining why, good luck, thanks for the opportunity, go see Joe for the paper work.

You realize the players are ready for it, so there’s no need to cuddle them. Still, I was surprised.

He wasn't starting opposite of Sean Smith

Yes, because Richard Marshall and Sean Smith are such high-caliber players. Davis, technically, started in three WR sets and is a much better player than Smith.

This move was subtraction by subtraction, no matter the compensation they received.

If you are not contending this year and you have no intention of resigning the player when his contract is up, why would you not take a second round pick for him?

Davis has shown up drunk to practices etc. His play has fallen off dramatically. Bash the dolphins and they do deserve it, but getting a 2nd for Davis is an absolute steal.

He wasn't oblivious, he was in shock.

And they told him that he had to leave right away because the Colts wanted him with the team as soon as possible. The storm was coming in and they needed him on a flight out of Miami before it hit.

He was their best CB and is a potential top 10 player at his position. Don't be stupid.

ďHeís a great player, one of the best corners in the game. Iím not sure about the direction of the team. Thatís not my place. My place is to play hard and be the leader of men.Ē

Maybe he knows more about Davis' ability than you.

The coaching staff evaluated him, decided he was not good enough to be a starter and shipped him off.

But his best buddy dansby is really giving an unbiased assesment? ok.

Why don't we call that TE that the cut? You know, the one that can't block but runs a 4.5.

Les Brown, the one that was told "everything about you deserves to make this team except for what you've shown when you put on the pads"?

    That should improve the team.

I dont think the Colts made a smart move by trading a 2nd for Davis.
