    Waivers and Cuts

So does anyone know exactly how the waivers and cut downs work....

Tannenbaum was interviewed at halftime and alluded to some type of order and ranking, and I just don't know how it works, do you put a certain weight/rank on a player you want to claim? What about a guy like Danny Coale (other thread)....can you put someone like that immediately on your PS or do they go through waivers for the 53 first?

    Any info would be appreciated....

In order to be placed on the practice squad, you have to clear waivers first. So the Jets would have to sign him, then place him on waivers, then once he clears can then be placed on PS.

Also he would count against the 53 man roster before he was released, so they would have to be at 52 men to do that move.

As far as the waiver wire goes, they go by the records from last year. Kind of like the draft. So if the Jets put a claim in on a player and the Dolphins do as well, the Dolphins would be awarded that player.

We should beat any team because we didn't win any games last year right?

No need to waive him--just send him back to the accountants office and let him figure out the cap.

We could waive Kool-Aid Ray and it probably would mean the end of his career as a professional control freak.

    Who are you?

Other than a moron who complains about everything and couldn't predict the coming of night.

    Thanks....thats good info.

One additional question. If the dolphins get the player in your above scenario, do they then "go to the back of the line?"

No, they do not go to the back of the line. Teams prioritize their picks, so if they are awarded player X, then it nullifies a clam on player Y and Z. This way you do not end up with 4 RBs off of waivers.

Shocked that Richardson was cut, other than that there are no surprises.

Agreed 100%: Harrison and Dowtin at least better be on on the practice squad. Harrison is going to be a player in this league.

How many D linemen are you going to keep?? The Jets are really deep right now at DL.
