I can only guess they are praying Richardson clears waivers. Ten bucks the Eagles snatch him

I just don't umderstand the thinking at all.

A player like Harrison should not be let go....period.

Barring 11th-hour change, FB John Conner is safe: source. Season-ending injury to FB/TE Josh Baker saved him. #Jets

These are the kind of moves that piss me off....
The problem (a good problem) is that the Jets are very deep at DL.

Dowtin, Harrison, and Sapp are hopefully back on PS, surprised they didn't hold on to Sapp, he would have made the team if he stayed healthy

A bit surprised Riley was cut, and Conner is so far still on team, but it looks like Baker injury saved him.

Anybody tracking other team's cuts? Will post here as I see them

A few of you asked about guys like Dowtin and Harrison. There are 10 more cuts coming after practice today, could be among them. #nyj

They were not cut yet, usually if a team wants to get a guy on their PS squad, they will wait till the last minute to release him.

NFL teams must trim their rosters to 53 players by 9 p.m. Friday. The Jets had 75 players on the roster entering the day. Gang Green has already made decisions to waive the following players, per sources:

WR Joseph Collins, CB Donnie Fletcher, CB LeQuan Lewis, OLB Ricky Sapp, OL Paul Cornick, OL Fred Koloto, DB Julian Posey, DL Jay Richardson, TE Tarren Lloyd, WR Eron Riley, DL Damon Harrison, DL Martin Tevaseu, DB D'Anton Lynn, LB Marcus Dowtin, QB Matt Simms, P Spencer Lanning, OL Matt Kroul.

Expect Sapp, Harrison and Dowtin to be on the practice squad if they clear waivers.

As of Friday morning, the Jets planned on keeping fullback John Conner.

Personally, john conner. I dont see what he brings to the table as he is somehow a FB who cant get short yardage gains when we need them and is actually a poor blocker.

I won't know that until I can look at the final product.

Unless my math is off though, we're only keeping 6 DL? That just seems light, considering this shift to more 4-3.

I agree about Connor, unfortunately the Baker injury will allow Connor to make the team. How many D linemen can you keep? Coples, Pohua, Devito, Ellis, Wilkerson, Dixon.

They need a FB on the roster and he's the only one. My guess is they'll be looking at the waiver wire and if a better options becomes available they will cut Conner.

They tried with Baker but he got hurt..
