Mike Francesa - Jets Worse Than The Team Ryan Inherited

"If you are the most dyed in the wool, most loyal, optimistic Jets fan in the world, if you bleed green, if you sleep on your Weeb Eubank pillowcases, you have to go into this season scared to death about your offense. And Rex Ryan is going backwards. He inherited a better team than he has now and that has isn't a good sign."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this Francesa fellow isn't the biggest Jet fan.

"Regarding Ingram, Ryan pissed off the entire Jets scouting staff by telling Coples he was going to draft him and they were furious, went nuts in the room by Rex's interference with the first round pick."

You really can't argue with the results. We haven't even won a game yet, and we have the worst record in the league so far.

How exactly is Rex Ryan to blame for the incompetence of his front office?

That quote is a very dicey thing for francessa to say without a way to sustatnitate it.

If this is true then it is WAY more indicative of a weak Front Office then it is of Rex (although also a dumb move by Rex).

Who gives a SH!T what the HC tells a player during a workout. If Tanny and the scouts wanted Ingram, that is who they take, that is their job, Rex is not in charge of personell. What were they afraid of, Coples having his feelings hurt?

"They did not improve their offensive line. They did not improve their wide receivers. They are a weak team offensively, they have below average running backs, below average wide receivers, they have three offensive linemen that you can say are pretty good, the others are below average, they don't scare anyone."

This is very true, but the one caveat is that it's largely Tanny's doing.

Do people realize that the Jets STILL have not won a game yet this season. NOT ONE GAME! How Rex still has a job is beyond me.

It is truly amazing how much hate Rex Ryan has been able to dredge out of peoples guts.

The O line was better, hard to say the WR core was, We still had Thomas Jones but other than that this team is better.

Are we to forget the year Rex took over our best estimates from all the sports know it alls was 6 wins, again our BEST estimate.

Not to mention he took a D that was ranked in the 20's to number 1 overall.

I understand people really really really dislike Rex but completely losing sight of what the team has done since he got here is crazy. After the Favre disaster I was sure the Jets were going to spend the next decade in the gutter and I would like to think Rex had a hand in preventing that.
