So we may be going into this game with Cumberland and Reuland as our only TE's.
Great. I'm stoked.
Given the circumstances, I think we are going to see a lot of wildcat and some other unusual formations. The Bills D is best built to defend a traditional offense; I can't see us just lining up in a base set and letting Mo Williams and the Bills other DE just try to tee-off.
Playing a physical game is tough for a defense this early in the season and I expect the Jets to make Buffalo have to think and work hard. The Jets have to do their thing, of course, but this games doesn't scare me in the least.
Man I would love to see Hill and Shillens/Gates on the outside with Holmes in the slot. It would be huge if those guys can step up on the outside to stretch the defenses and open up the run game and underneath routes for Keller, Holmes, Kerley and McKnight. I also want to see some screens to neutralize the pass rush. I really want to see what Mcknight, Kerley, and Gates can do in space.
Last night was interesting to see how Dallas went to the short passing game to neutralize the Gmen rush as they weren't moving the ball on the ground. End result, it opened up the run and play action. I also liked how the Gmen moved Bennett around to chip Ware.
Confident that Sparano is smart enough to find ways to manipulate the Defense and open things up for the personnel on the field. I felt Schotty tried to do stuff that was predictable or not working, and never leveraged the screens.
