    How far do you go for a guy who at the time you weren't sure was going to be the same guy as before?

    Or still don't know will be able to make it through the season.

    And don't know how he will be in the cold winter weather.

    I'd rather have Smith for the season than an injured Manning.

    I agree. Jets looked solid in all 3 phases...scored TDs on Offense, Defense and Special Teams...very complete. Gave up 2 or 3 big runs to Spiller on missed tackles but that stuff is easily correctable, and sacrificed some points in an effort to contain the clock not the scoring.

    oh wait...you WERE talking about the Jets, weren't you?

    Honestly, of all the jets "haters" I respect Peter king the most. 90% of the media is scrambling trying to find some way to say they believed the jets had the potential to be a great team all off season while king just owns it and eats crow. Might be silly but I sort of admire that kind of honesty out of the scummy depths of ny/national sports media.
