So we still have an open spot on the 53 man roster, correct?

Gotta be Antonio Allen or Jordan White-- unless we're looking to add someone directly to our 53 man from someone else's practice squad.

    Correct..

As Steiny reported yesterday it will be Sapp if his ankle is ready, which will be determined within the next few days at practice

Does anyone have any inkling of what Sapp is prepared to bring to the table?

He was with the team for a while now, does that mean he's up to speed on the playbook? Would he be just a situational player like when Maybin first came over - or would he see more time in the mix?

Rex Ryan calls Antonio Brown "one of the most underrated players in football"

Rex clarifies that Revis has not been cleared for contact yet. Just cleared for lifting and running

Kyle Wilson would start outside opposite Cromartie if Revis can't play vs Steelers

Still days away, but if Jeremy Kerley (low back) can't play Sunday, CB Kyle Wilson would return punts & Clyde Gates would be up at WR.

Good job Rex. Brag about players on the OTHER team. Give them a false sense of security. Now that's the way to handle it. I prefer to hear that.

And bummer about Revis. When I saw physical activity, I thought football.

Sapp was performing like Maybin's twin before he hurt his ankle in camp.
There's a reason why the coaching staff won't cut bait with him, he can
rush the passer. The advantage Sapp has over Maybin is his body, he's
a legit 250-255 so you wouldn't be scared to leave him on the field for
running plays. But until he shows he can get and stay on the field all
    his potential is worthless

Grrr, I really hope Kerley can play. Has had nice chemistry with Sanchez, especially on 3rd down.

sucks if kerley can't play. i wonder if that would mean more powell to energize the passing game.

Excellent synopsis, however I think sapp would simply be a pass rusher on Sunday. He is familiar with the system....he has been with the team a long time.

If we did in fact sneak him through waivers, so his contract is not guaranteed, and then was able to bring him back to actually play meaningful passing down snaps, that would be a pretty nice job by Tanny.

I'd guess rookie CB Donnie Fletcher might be the guy to be activated from the PS if the Jets think Revis can't go. Rex can't go into a game without at least 5 active CBs or he gets a nervous twitch.

Cotchery on last year's departure from Jets: "I don’t think anyone really knows everything that transpired between myself and the Jets."

Cotchery on talking with Jets in off-season: "At the end of the day, Pittsburgh really wanted me back here. I really wanted to come back."

    Interesting, thanks

I get that Sapp is fragile, but if he can rush the passer and hang at 250, could HE be a guy to take PT from Scott?

No, I believe Sapp is strictly an OLB/DE hybrid

I think that guy will eventually be DD.
