It's good for the press, good for the new NFL attitude. Revis will play.
Agreed, to me this is a dog & pony show. Displaying to the world that the
NFL is serious about concussions. Also, so they don't get into anymore
law suits in the coming years. I'll be shocked if Revis doesn't play
Darrelle Revis’ status remains unchanged as of Thursday morning – cleared for physical activity but not contact – and his prognosis for Sunday’s game remains unknown.
“By Saturday we better know something whether he’s going or not,” said Rex Ryan. “If a guy had a concussion I don’t think you would put a guy on a plane to make the game time decision. By Saturday we’ll certainly have an answer.”
Revis suffered a concussion during Sunday’s opener against the Bills. He was cleared for physical activity yesterday and is expected to address the media on Thursday.
"Obviously there’s a certain protocol or standards you have to meet," said Ryan. "If any young man doesn’t reach those standards then they shouldn’t play."
If we're going to be a circus, let's be a circus.....
I say the plan is:
Revis doesn't get on the plane on Saturday. But secretly, someone is driving him to Pittsburgh. Hide him out, sneak him into the stadium, hide him in the locker room, warm him up under the tunnel.
Then, as the Jets defense takes the field for the first snap....Revis runs out of the tunnel!!!
I'll drive him up, and sneak him in, but you have to warm him up in the tunnel. I'm pretty sure he's going to play, but I'm worried that Trufant was getting time ahead of Lankster. I hope that switches now. Trufant is a good special teams player, but he cannot cover full size players.
