    Revis Still Not Cleared 9/13

    Per Connor Orr:

    Conor Orr ‏@ConorTOrr
Revis still not cleared for contact and won't be before practice today (players get re-evaluated after Rex speaks). #jets

    Conor Orr ‏@ConorTOrr
Ryan said they would not put Revis on a plane with a concussion so decision would have to be made before takeoff Saturday. #jets

    Conor Orr ‏@ConorTOrr
Ryan said he has "no idea" when the latest Revis can be officially cleared to play on Sunday. #jets

One game is not worth him being sidelined for 4-6 weeks.

    Let's plan on contingency now.

How do we play this? Lankster will also see significant time, but the Blitz packages will have to be dialed back, or need to be overloaded to speed up the timing of the throws.

    Is Pouha in?

It's good for the press, good for the new NFL attitude. Revis will play.

If Revis still isn't cleared by the time the plane takes off on Saturday, the contingency plan must include someone driving Revis from Jersey to Pittsburgh.

Tend to agree with this. Jets are in no rush to clear him. Let the Steelers WRS wonder whether he will play or not. Revis could still practice, just no contact.

Agreed, to me this is a dog & pony show. Displaying to the world that the
NFL is serious about concussions. Also, so they don't get into anymore
law suits in the coming years. I'll be shocked if Revis doesn't play

Is he taking the test and failing, or are they just saying you aren't cleared for contact and being cautious?

Lots of 4 man rush, 7 in coverage. Cromartie on Wallace, Wilson on Brown, Lankster in the slot on Sanders, lots of safety help.

Luckily, the Steelers don't have a dominant TE or a particularly good pass-catching RB at the moment

On a separate note independent NFL neurologist was seen dancing on the street and waving terrible towel.

Jets will not make Revis a game-time decision

    BY Seth Walder

Darrelle Revis’ status remains unchanged as of Thursday morning – cleared for physical activity but not contact – and his prognosis for Sunday’s game remains unknown.

“By Saturday we better know something whether he’s going or not,” said Rex Ryan. “If a guy had a concussion I don’t think you would put a guy on a plane to make the game time decision. By Saturday we’ll certainly have an answer.”

Revis suffered a concussion during Sunday’s opener against the Bills. He was cleared for physical activity yesterday and is expected to address the media on Thursday.

"Obviously there’s a certain protocol or standards you have to meet," said Ryan. "If any young man doesn’t reach those standards then they shouldn’t play."

If we're going to be a circus, let's be a circus.....

    I say the plan is:

Revis doesn't get on the plane on Saturday. But secretly, someone is driving him to Pittsburgh. Hide him out, sneak him into the stadium, hide him in the locker room, warm him up under the tunnel.

Then, as the Jets defense takes the field for the first snap....Revis runs out of the tunnel!!!

If he doesn't play we give up 30 pts easy in this game in my humble opinion... He is that much of a factor on our defense..

So we need to find a way to score 31..somehow..someway..

There is no need for him to have any contact until sunday. So we will hear the same thing tomorrow. We just need him in the meeting rooms and keeping his conditioning up.

He will be out there sunday.

I'll drive him up, and sneak him in, but you have to warm him up in the tunnel. I'm pretty sure he's going to play, but I'm worried that Trufant was getting time ahead of Lankster. I hope that switches now. Trufant is a good special teams player, but he cannot cover full size players.
