The team is going to have to learn how to play without him at some point if so, better sooner than later.

I know anything carton says is unofficial. I for one never thought he was going to play. And he is not. The NFL and the players, and coaches take head injurys very serious now days after they see the results of players over the last 25 years or so. In fact I would not at all be suprised if it is a mandatory one game sit for a head injury in the very near future.

Why risk further injury to your best player in a week 2 regular season game?

There is no mandatory rule where you have to sit out one game. I think you do have to be symptom free for 48 hours in order to be cleared for play. So thats why the decision will probably be made early Saturday morning. If Revis shows lingering symptoms today then he most likely will not be cleared to play.

Regardless if he does or doesn't play. I would love to see how the d will step up. Rex is the guru on D, time to start guruing. (this can't be a word, guruing?) Can't Wait!!!

If he gets cleared then I think he will play. If he can play, he will play. I do not think the Jets will hold him out if he gets cleared.

I truly hope he's okay and there's no long term effect or he becomes more susceptible to concussions.
As far as him not playing, I do have confidence in the coaching and players stepping up. Now we'll see what this D is made of. This really sucks.

I heard Carton say it, but sounded like he was just assuming. He said something to the effect of "Jets vs. Steelers, no Revis, but also No Harrison and possibly Troy Polomalu."

He is a Jets fan, so seems like he is just preparing for the worst.

I think Revis will play. He is not the kind of player who is involved in a lot of collisions, and the hit wasnt something devastating. I still feel like this is more of a smokescreen than anything.

True. I'd rather lose him for one game than lose him for a month.

Ive come to the conclusion, based upon the myriad of Revis threads at JI, that Revis will either be playing or he wont be playing.

No long-term contract, no play. Just throwing that out there.

    Yawn

“It’s not my call. It’s the doctors’ call,” Revis said. “Whatever they say goes. I would try to be out there with a broken leg. They know that. It’s a competitive spirit in me that just wants to go out there and play. If I feel fine, which I do, then we’ll go from there.”

If true, Cro has to cover Wallace and then the rest of the matchups become dicey. Puts a lot more pressure on our pass rush to get to Ben. I think this could be big trouble. Steelers will look to exploit this without question.

Things just got much much tougher for the Jets. Despite all the press he gets he still gets taken for granted.
