"Gagoots" is the most ridiculous name I've ever heard. I hope that a$$hole stays banned.

    That's a totally ridiculous comment.

CB's take away the opposing teams #1 WR, and that's about it.

Do you really think OC's stay awake at night game-planning around a CB?

And again, no team is stupid enough to pay a CB $100MM.

Crash, if that's really him, you gotta broker a deal for his reinstatement; much like JW did for me when I was banned all those years ago after the "Bozos Bus Debacle".

yup, that's it. cal Johnson, 1 catch. Hakeem Nicks, 1 catch. Greg Jennings, 1 catch. Andre Johnson, maybe 2. So the Jets, who have been criticized for not generating much of a pass rush the past 3 years, still hold opposing QBs to low 50s completion percentages and low TD pass numbers. Yes, taking away that opposing top receiving option really is no big deal. hmmf

Your completely wrong. Good cb's make defensive ends and pass rushing LB's better. How about trying to be unbiased. That comment was a typical troll comment.

Don't forget that the guy is just plain good to have around because of his Jerry Rice-type work ethic and its potential influence on the young guys. We need that with Holmes' black cloud hovering about.

I'm sure the reason why the Giants pass rush is so good is becuase of the great play of their CB's.

Come on BURGH, you know the game better than that.

you make it sound like a cb is equivalent to a fullback.

cb's are very highly drafted, highly paid players -- one of the most valuable on the field. equal to DEs and OLBs? maybe not anymore, but in the latest data I could find in a 30 second search (2005), CB's were paid more than either DE or OLB. so you might want to tone it down a bit (not likely, I know)...

    Quarterback: 5.15
    Running back: 3.27
    Offensive tackle: 3.17
    Wide receiver: 2.97
    Cornerback: 2.75
    Defensive end: 2.54
    Middle linebacker: 2.30
    Defensive tackle: 2.06
    Offensive guard: 1.94
    Outside linebacker: 1.81
    Tight end: 1.79
    Center: 1.65
    Free safety: 1.39
    Strong safety: 1.27
    Kicker: 1.23
    Fullback: 0.84
    Punter: 0.69

So people want the Jets to keep Revis long term but also want to risk him turning into the next Wayne Chrebet?? Doesn't make sense. Let him sit one week and don't take chances with his long term health.
Agreed plus some of the same "Jets are dead crowd", were calling for Revis' head if he held out this year in preseason. Now they switch sides again and lament his injury and absence and predict doom and gloom. We can not have it both ways!! Injuries are a part of the NFL. Wilson gets paid and has talent. If he can't do his job we have to know and compensate for Wilson with great defensive schemes. Landry can lead the way with several jarring hits! Demario Davis MUST get some playing time at MLB alongside Harris. Maybin must get some sacks and/or great pressure on BIG BEN. Pace is in the twilight of his Jets careeer! Its time for Sapp to get some playing time if he is finally healthy.

AND if we get a passrush going, I dare say Wilson will be aided in doing his job and we will win!

I can not believe the defeatist attitude on this board by alleged Jets fans and armchair GMs!

I think we will get to Big Ben with our front 4 plus help from the OLBs ( Maybin and Sapp if healthy) and win the game! Sanchez has to play as well as he did last week and he should! Howard will too. BRICK is the key I believe. He must play great! The defense MUST develop a KILLER INSTINCT and crush the Steeler run game! I think we are capable of doing all that! Rex says he is the best defensive mind in football! OK REX prove it or stfup! Wilson was a first round pick a few years ago and got a lot of experience when Revis held out for more money even though he had a signed contract! Why can't Wilson & Cro do a credible job especially if we get our passrush going? This is a TEAM game! Win as a TEAM and perish the thought of losing! If we do what we get paid to do, we will win this game. The talent is there and REX is supposed to be a great defensive mind. Now is the time for him to show up and win the game with great schemes and calls and use the AVAILABLE talent well! We can and should win this game despite what the DOOM and GLOOM Brigade and Peanut Gallery have to say with their dire Doom and Gloom predictions and loser mentality!

Those are average salaries by position.

    Is Revis an average CB?

Why don't you look at the top salaries (the best at their positions) by QB, WR, RB, DE/OLB, LT and CB's.

it's not up to Revis, Rex, Tannenbaum or Jonathan Feinsod.

he has to pass the tests administered by the medical staff and an independent evaluator.

unless you're accusing Revis of somehow faking his symptoms to deliberately fail the test...
