I thought he was saying welfare recipients + people who get more back in refund than they pay in + Gov workers who contribute nothing, just on the payroll = 47% sounds pretty realistic to me.

You forget I have a good memory. Part costs $250. Your boss says charge him $500. You tell customer $900 and ask Boss if you get the difference.
Good story. Good initiative by you. LOL.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Why are people getting earned income credits when they pay no Federal Tax at all. Why does the Middle Class keep on shrinking just ask the 47%.

The most telling point is his line, "My job is is not to worry about those people," meaning half the country.

It's the same old conservative scam, claiming "class warfare" and "redistribution of wealth" whenever anyone suggests a rich person pay their fair share of taxes, implying directly that anyone who isn't rich is a freeloader.

Oh, class warfare and redistribution of wealth is indeed a real thing, but it's not welfare mamas "who don't want to work" living the highlife on the backs of the poor, poor rich... The class warfare and redistribution of wealth is the raiding of the Treasury of middle class tax revenues (since the middle class are the only people who pay taxes) and re-routing those funds upwards to the wealthy to subsidize their folly, while slashing middle class benefit programs which the middle class have paid for themselves.

But they know a lot of middle class folks would rather turn over their entire paycheck to the superrich than a quarter to a theoretical bag lady. So the scam works better than it should.

I saw the video and it is clear to anyone watching it that it was a discussion about winning the election. He makes the claim that since 47% of people either don't pay any income tax or are dependent on government wellfare programs those folks won't be motivated to vote for him based on his lower taxes argument. He was speaking about which voters he is targeting politically to get over the 50% hump and win the election.

His statement about who pays income taxes was factually correct though I'd say that some people in the 47% certainly vote Republican. The idea that he said he didnt care or wasnt worried about the "47%" is of course ridiculous. He was clearly talking about targeting the votes to win the election not how he will govern.

Interestingly this is no different in premise from what he has been saying on the stump. In one stump speech he told the crowd that if they want more free stuff from government they shouldn't vote for him.

All the hullabaloo made about this "secret video" is more evidence to me of a media working in overtime to help their guy, Obama, win reelection. We have turmoil in the Middle East. We have an administration that ignored threat warnings at our embassies and left them unguarded. We have an administration that we know leaked national security secrets for political gain. An economy in deceleration. Obamacare is about to become the law of the land. Yet the media focuses on stuff like this.

I was happy to see that Romney stood by the comments on Monday. It would have been bad if he backed off the comments. On a positive note it appears the voters see through the BS. The polls continue to show a tie with Rassmussen at Romney +1 and Gallup at Obama +1.

    Change of pace
I took a look at Barack Obama's 2010 tax return just to be informed. Easy to access.
He has $820,000 in FOREIGN TAX CREDITS

THIS FOR THE BOY WHO CRITICIZES ROMNEY ABOUT OUTSOURCING.
Obama has taxes paid to foreign governments for his investments in foreign companies and/or foreign government bonds.

WHOA!! That's a lot of investment income tax. Hence a LOT of money invested in NON U.S. activity.
I myself have some money invested in bond funds which have some foreign holdings (high yield stuff). BUT I am not the one talking USAUSA etc.

The hypocrit in chief at it again.

Just check Barack Obama's 2010 Income Tax on your search engine

It gave a biased media an "aha!" moment, but he probably won't lose a vote over it.

And if Obama wants to talk about numbers from here on out he will get slaughtered.

    Cannot wait for the debates.

Not True. There are a lot of folks in that 47% who dont realize that he is talking about them, who have a tendency to vote Republican year in and year out. These folks are probably either too dumb to realize or to proud to admit that he is talking about them.

Actually there are alot of folks in the 47% that understand that their path to prosperity can be better achieved by getting a good job as opposed to suckling off the government teet. There are people across all of the income categories that understand that a robust economic expansion is a much better path to upward mobility then more food stamps and free cell phones.

Romney was wrong when he said that the 47% of people that don't pay any taxes would not be likely to vote for him. Obama's coalition consists of 20% of hardcore self identified liberals (like you) that actually believe in redistribution and Western European stye Socialism. Pepper in 95% of blacks (10% of the vote) single issue pro illegal immigration Hispanic voters (5% of the vote) and you are already at 35% guaranteed. The rest of Obama's coalition of support comes from single women that know very little about politics and tend to vote based on their pro-abortion position and government union worker types.

You forgot to pencil in the wealthy bankers who accepted government bailout money, the oil moguls who accept ridiculous govt handouts in the form of trillion dollar tax breaks, and white trailer park trash who collect welfare none of whom would ever vote for Obama

Do you realize that most of that 47% aren't on the government teet and already have good jobs?

State & swing state polls on Rassmussen show an average-over-time 50/50 split.

Rassy site says that 55% of voters don't like either Obama or Romney. I wonder that this means.
