I'd say so. That first guy got it right - even players like Aaron Rogers and Demarcus Ware have bad games, Revis doesn't.

The dropoff (if any) between Aaron Rodgers, Brady, Brees etc and Ware, JPP et al is minute compared to Revis and whoever else is #2 CB in the league. Who else nullifies top tier WR's like him? No one.

In today's NFL...the name of the game is QB to receiver. And Darelle consistently takes away half the field. As the opponent's #1 receiver gets lost on Revis Island. It's practically automatic.

    Yep...Revis is that dominant.

This is true...and he's going to want to get paid for it very soon

The question isn't if he is the most dominant, it's wether that dominance is too cost prohibitive to field a team that is competitive at other positions.

I love that people keep bring up Stevie Johnson as Revis's kryptonite, lol. As if Johnson's numbers against Revis were hall of fame caliber.

    Agreed..
I think there's no doubt he's the best player at his position (biggest gap between 1 and 2)

But unfortunately that position isn't all that important.

Revis does not take away "half the field".

He only takes away one guy from the opposing team.

Yes. And nobody plays their position better than Revis plays CB. Rodgers is not a better QB than Revis is a CB. Megatron is not a better WR than Revis is a CB.

Unfortunately for us, Revis is not a QB.

I don't care about having legendary players. I need a SB.

I agree ... He is by far the most talented Jet I have ever witnessed. And he is a true Pro, always showing up. We will see what he demands with the new contract, but I can't imagine that situation helping the team.

You want the best player on your team to be a QB, WR, RB or DE/OLB, not a CB.

The way Rothlisberger spread the ball around, I don't think Revis would have made all that much difference in the outcome, unless he directly produced a key turnover. If you could have Rothlisberger/Brady/Rodgers, etc. or Revis/Willis/Pierre-Paul/Ware etc. who would you pick? The QB, obviously.

Not if he keeps getting kicked in the head by our crappy linebackers

If he was the most dominant player in the NFL he'd be the MVP. He never has.
Ok, it's only an offensive player? Has he ever been DPOY? Nope.
Excellent player. Not the best player.

He may very well be the best player, just not at the most effective position.
