how first 3 seasons he had less than 200 touches per year-- the last 3 seasons are his only with 300+ touches... miles? i don't think so- if anything he's got a pair of the freshest legs in football.
Over six years and 1500 rushing attempts is a ton of mileage in the NFL for a running back. Successful teams do not build around and give top dollar long term contracts to a player who is heading toward the twilight of his career.

He's in Kubiak's doghouse right now.

Greene does do very well with Ball Security.

Delusional. Maybe they could trade Holmes for Andre Johnson too.

bumo for what? It is a dumb idea and trades like this are part of the reason we are a team in decline.

The Jets need to stop trading away draft picks for players

Stop signing big ticket free agents

Develop young talent and look to get as many draft picks as possible

Trading for band aids, signing big ticket free agents (including our own for the most part) and overpaying for in house talent is not the way to build a football team

The real issue is the O-Line. There's no point in getting ANY expensive RB free-agent until that part of things is fixed. Because, aside from personnel it could also be coaching - the problem is bigger and longer than one guy {MJD} and the amount of time left on his contract {2 years}.

So, IMO - no point in doing it other than as an attempted short-term bandaid to put more fans in the seats.

Right, and at a position that requires at least a competent OL, which we don't have. And on top of that, trade some more draft picks, because that has worked so well for us in the past.

+1. RB makes no sense - expensive free agent or high draft pick. Should have read your reply before I added one.

You either bumped this because you want more people to read your idea of a trade that wont happen and or you legitimately think Tannenbaum is reading the forums and might have missed it the first time.

Expensive RB's who have been in the league 4 or 5 years are the worst investment in the NFL and the last thing we need is another bloated contract. Besides, you don't need superstar runners in the NFL, you need a good group of backs that all do different things like run inside, run outside and make people miss and catch the ball out of the backfield. We have none of that.

This. Plus we need to build better through the draft rather than frivolous and wasteful package deals that backfire. Jets have missed out on good value in the draft lately
