Post New Story: Is a Change at Running Back in Order?

Florham Park, N.J. -*Darrelle Revis is out for the season and as Rex Ryan said it's up to every one of his players to step up in Revis' absence. That means not just the defense, but the offense as well.

Dustin Keller needs to return, the receivers and tight ends have to get open, beat press coverage and hold onto the ball more, the offensive line needs to give Sanchez more time and Sanchez needs to play better. He's made some big strides in his certain areas of his play, but is still making some of the same classic Sanchez mistakes.

We couldn't obtain/afford enough skill players to adequately and consistently offset our OL and DL performing below average to average. Consistently successful(playoff bound) teams know this and priortize it. Unless the current OL and DL pickup their play we will not be more than a mediocre team with a win/loss record to prove it. A dominant LT shouldn't be a poor run blocker. Slauson's backup quality and Moore is reaching the end of line. This is the heart of the Jets problems, despite all the constant babbling about skill set deficiences. The DL has good talent, they're just not being used/coached properly.

0Jets Add RB Jonathan GrimesSep 25th, 2012 at 3:26 pm by Alan SchechterJetsHome » Jets » Jets Add RB Jonathan Grimes

The Jets have made a move to hopefully bolster the running attack.

Reports are coming out this afternoon that the Jets have signed RB Jonathan Grimes off of the Houston Texans’ practice squad. He did well for the Texans in the preseason, rushing 28 times for 130 yards, a 4.6 yards per carry average. The Texans were likely trying to hide him on the practice squad, as he did perform well, so they can’t be thrilled about this signing by the Jets.

In his senior season at William and Mary, Grimes led the nation with 228.18 all-purpose yards per game, and received 11 All-american honors for his college career. He may be able to add a spark to the Jets struggling running attack.

To possibly bolster the secondary with the loss of Darrelle, the Jets are going to have free agent CB Chris Carr in for a workout this week. Carr, most recently of the Ravens, is 5’10 181 pounds, and 29 years old. He has recorded 6 INTs and 24 passes defended over his seven year career so far.

It’s nice to see Mike Tannenbaum is still alive and trying to earn his paycheck, finally.

I don't care what it is, but something has to be done to make it a habit of beating opponents in the first 3 quarters not the last, and OT.

Greene stinks. Its blatantly obvious. If they dont make the switch to powell then they will deserve it when they get canned after the season.
