I don't love Keller, but our offense, as currently constructed, needs him badly.
Like when he almost killed Laverneus Coles?

Isn't Sparano one of those guys who typically uses the TE a lot? ex Fasano

No one said Keller was an "Elite" Tight end nor do we have to pay him like one...stop your negative trolling...its already old.

Keller has Pro Bowl potential in a competent offense with a good quarterback.

But he's on an incompetent offense with a lousy QB.

Switch DK with Aaron Hernandez and their stats would both flip.

    this guy gets it.

I always thought Keller would be a huge part of this offense because he would serve as a superb safety blanket

True but he also needs to toughen up in the middle and be more aggressive attacking the ball.

And guys stop feeding the troll

Having Keller just as a decoy in the Buffalo game helped open things up.

Also do The Jets really want to get rid of another one of Sanchez's guys. He is used to him.

Cotchery, Edwards and then Keller. I do not see it happening. I think he gets resigned.

I am shocked that guys are beating up Keller, who has a hammy and who Sanchez says he misses hugely. When he returns things will open up for everyone else, hopefully this Sunday.

DK and Hernandez have awfully similar stats over the past 2 seasons:

    Keller - 120 catches, 1502 yards (12.5 avg), 10 TDs, 72 first downs.

    Hernandez - 124 catches, 1473 yards (11.9 avg), 13 TDs, 73 first downs.

    just saying.

Yeah, trade him, that's it. Let's trade the player that is Sanchez' most dependable security blanket and plays a position that is critical in Sparano's system. He had 70 catches, and 800 yds last year? Yeah, trade that guy, we don't need him..

I love the fantasy GM's on this board.

Not a "huge asset". Very replaceable and not worth the money he is making now or the money he wants for a new contract.

15 Touchdowns in 4 years. He SHOULD be a huge asset especially in the red zone. But he isn't.
That's crazy for 1 season though. HOF.

    When is Keller coming back?

I hope we keep Reuland. I think he's playing well.

He's severely undersized for a TE at 6'2". Most top notch tight ends are around 6'5"-6'6". I like Keller. He isn't going to get paid as a top tight end.
