    Yes please.

Cro was a "problem child" before he got here too.

Don't be ridiculous. The Jets would NEVER sign someone who has had any brushes with the law. We know that's why Braylon is no longer with the Jets because that's what everyone keeps saying.

I'm sure Cromartie can mentor him and show him how to live life off the field.

    Is he in jail? No.

Did he serve his suspension? Yes.

Is he precluded from playing football? No.

Is he a potentially good player at a position of need for the Jets? Yes.

    Sign him.

We're taking him to play CB, not to date your daughter.

If what you wrote here is true then this why the Jets didn't bring Edwards back and that is Despicable IMO

Three straight gigs have turned sour for Edwards.

    Plus Miami rejected him.

I dunno, maybe there are more twists to his story and lifestyle.

    Maybe because of this:

Braylon Edwards will be demoted in favor of Golden Tate (knee) if the latter makes it through practice without a setback this week.
Edwards struggled to separate from Cardinals CB William Gay in the opener while Patrick Peterson shadowed Sidney Rice. NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell noted that Edwards looked "slow" in the preseason compared to Randy Moss. Edwards can be dropped in all formats. Sep 13 - 5:27 PM

You have it backwards. Cro's problem was with too many child, he was not a problem child

players only become cancers if the team is losing. that's why moss did well in minnesota and the patsies. same thing with guys like coples or ellis or thomas or just about any other player who has had off field problems.

Based on the current circumstances, sign him up, but explains no uncertain terms, the first time he screws up he's gone. Also, this could quite possibly be his last chance, so that would be the main theme of the initial meeting with him. In reviewing all the other arrests /legal problems on the Lions, it sounds like a frat house atmosphere, where anything goes. Removing him from that atmosphere, coupled with some positive mentoring and the possibility of being black-balled from the league may open this young man's eyes.....and we may get a good CB.

Stop thinking only of the players skills and abilities and start looking at character and locker room chemistry.

I say NO, lets become professionals and not clowns.
Guys like this...when cut, sometimes see the light and realize they have to get their shti together.

Also, when you draft like the JETS , you are left little choice.

Am I misunderstanding something here? He was released and is a free agent. If the Jets were to sign him, wouldn't his 3 game suspension start upon his signing?

No, his child bearing was the problem, not the player... Big difference.

    Yes you are missing this:

Berry’s two off-field incidents got him suspended three games by the league, but players are allowed to serve suspensions while they’re out of the league, so Berry’s suspension ended with the conclusion of Week Three. He is now eligible to play if anyone wants him, and the Jets may want him.
