thats that prob, he's only good under pressure. i think they should let him call more of his own plays. i think that will sharpen him up more

While Mark is dead last in completion of passes that stat doesn't tell the story of dropped passes or receivers who could not get open. I like Sanchez but he still is a kid and needs to be more of an assertive leader

The Niners' Week 3 upset loss to the Minnesota Vikings was an uncharacteristic performance for the Red and Gold, to say the least. The defense failed to consistently rush the passer, and when they did, Christian Ponder was able to escape and make several key plays on the move.

One key way to get back in the win for the 49'res is to ramp up the pressure and keep Jets QB Mark Sanchez from finding a rhythm throughout the game.

Ponder was able to successfully ward off 49ers pass-rushers and connect with his receivers on several remarkably accurate throws. He's second in the NFL in completion percentage (70.1) right now, and it's not because he played the defensively inept Jaguars and Colts the first two weeks of the season, either.

Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford, the first two QBs the Niners faced this year, ranked in the top five in completion percentage in 2011, so life hasn't been easy for San Fran in pass coverage thus far in 2012.

Aside from Minnesota, though, they've performed admirably.

Sanchez is an excellent change of pace for the Niners in that he currently ranks dead last in the NFL in completion percentage (50.5) and is typically horrid under pressure.

In 2011, Pro Football Focus graded the Jets signal-caller as the most inaccurate QB in the league when facing pressure. In 2010, PFF again graded Sanchez as the NFL's least accurate passer under pressure.

when is not putting pressure on the QB not the right thing to do, ever ? sit back and watch Brady get his panties get wrapped around his neck in game 7

this is pretty damning. sanchez is a really good quarterback as long as you keep him clean and his receivers get wide open. he can't function after you punch him in the mouth once and cannot throw his receivers open, instead he waits till they're blatantly open. these 2 facts are preventing him from being a top qb. otherwise he has they physical skills, drive and work ethic.

There are some Qb's who react better to pressure and have a better pocket presence than Sanchez. Over the past couple of weeks I have seen some very good blitz's picked up by great OL and OB's. Just a second or two more could mean the difference between a completion and incomplete but of course receivers have to catch the balls thrown their way

At times it looks like the game is still too fast for Mark, especially when pressured in the pocket. He's gonna have to get to the next level, and now. And yea, we can't afford to have our receivers dropping balls in the numbers.
