Rex and Namath on ESPN Today, Mcknight to get carries.

Namath made it very cler that he would NOT bench Sanchez for the simple reson that he thinks that:
The JETS don't have anyone better.
The Skill Players are just not that good.
The running game is non existant.

Rex said very little new except for all you Joe Mckight fans, the CB experiment is over now and he said it was discussed with the Coaches today to give him more chances at running the ball.

"And for the RB's...here's the irony...

The Jets are starving for a playmaker at the RB position. And Joe McKnight is the most explosive runner they have. Yet he is more valuable to Rex...as a future corner. So for now...the priority is for Joe to take CB 101 lessons. Instead of being integrated into the offensive game plan. Being given more snaps and playing time...at a position of need...that McKnight is already capable of playing right now. To make such a move...this when the offense is bleeding so badly...is just mind boggling."

    You got that one right

I'll settle for a few thousand.

Powell actually got 60% of the snaps on Sunday. We didn't notice because Greene still got most of the carries.

I'm sure there was no way that a great defensive team like the 49ers picked up on the fact that Greene was in for 80% of the runs and Powell for 80% of the passes. Not a chance.

Hopefully this means Greene's been relegated to the bench until the 2nd half starts. As far as McKnight goes, it's about damn time.

per Twitter: Namath prefers McElroy over Tebow

    Joe Namath ‏@RealJoeNamath

McElroy @NYKrant would you play McElroy or Tebow if you had to pull Sanchez?

I generally disagree with whatever Namath says because I think its mainly done to get himself some press, but he is pretty much dead on here. Sanchez has to do better, but he is not working with much on offense.

No it's not he has a tendency to fumble if he fumbles again on most teams he be gone.

Why don't we use McKnight at WR too? I never understand how we fail to utilize our players' strengths.

I'd rather watch McKnight fumble than Tebow throw, so this is a good development.

I'm glad to see McKnight get his chance. He's one of the few players with speed on this team. Let's see if he can do anything for a few games.

I will say that it's embarrassing to have the team flip flop on McKnight in such a fundamental way. One week he's on offense. The next on D. Then back to offense. Does anybody think more than 5 minutes ahead in our front office ?
