What's really wrong w/ this organization...

Terry Bradway and his merry band of "scouts".

Tannenbaum is just a money guy. Being as much, he probably relies too heavily on Bradway (the former GM) for drafting and "talent" choices. With few exceptions, I'm sure most GMs rely heavily on their player personnel departments. Not giving Mr. T a pass, because if he doesn't start there, he is definitely a big part of this problem.

Outside of Revi$ and Harris, what talent have the Jets produced prior to Rex/Tannenbaum? Since Parcells not much.

This scouting department is the real culprit as the reason why the Jets are in the shape their in.

Can u be certain that the players drafted are the players recommended by the scouts. Rex has a strong personality and after all, he's the HC. We know about Coples and Connor but how many others did this HC pick or the HC before him.

I get the distinct impression that the scouts don't have nearly enough say in the make up of the team.

When the GM is constantly trading away picks all over the place it puts the scouts in a bind.

When the coach and GM tell the scouts they need position A filled when really position B needs to be filled the scouts do their best.

The most idiotic thing of all was 'giving the coach his one pick' per draft when we usually have 4 or 5 picks in a draft.

Get a GM who will be at arms length from the coach and be a hard ass. The GM should build the team and the coach should coach the team. Our GM is too much buddy buddy with Rex.

The Jets are the NFL mirror image of the Mets.

Inept ownership trickles down and effects the entire organization.

How many former Jets players are starting for other teams? That has to be taken into account too.

Do you guys honestly think that a money guy like Tannenbaum actually evaluates talent on his own and ignores the scouting department?

Rex made a remark once that he only gets 1 draft pick a year. And remember even Parcells complaining about picking groceries w/ the Pats? I think a coaches input comes AFTER the player department makes their accessments within the limits set by the owner.

How successful were the Jets when Bradway was GM?

I'm not giving Rex or T a pass because the buck stops with them first. Just looking at a bigger picture.

Bradway and Clinkscales pleaded with Tanny to trade up with Det and draft Greene. Tanny didn't want to give up a 7th. Tanny finally agreed.

Why is Terry Bradway even still with the organization? Does demoting a guy and keeping him with same team EVER work?

Good question. How many of them are just depth behind the real stars of their respective teams? What is the percentage of those who went elsewhere and are out of football now?

The ability to draft and develop talent.......

You can't build and field a team with 22 1st round picks....

All draft selections represent value...... roster management and player development are critical..

Jets are not very good at either.....

2 AFC championship appearances were nice.. nice combo of FA's , Trades and draft choices....

We never effectively replaced.. Faneca, Woody, Thomas Jones, T-Rich.. Braylon Edwards, Sean Ellis..

By the time we get to Saturday there will be a thread blaming every single person associated with the jets for being the "real problem" of this franchise.

Exactly right. Look at the incompetent HCs we have hired over the years, then at all the flotsam the Wilpons put in place. Staggering.

Most guys won't even take the demotion. The fact that he took the demotion and remained with the team says a lot about who he is.

He's a loser and we allowed him to stay. Jets really are a joke when you break everything down.

Yeah, the same Tanny that tosses away late round picks left and right like they are nothing.

Trade down in the 3rd round and just get a 7th in return.
    Trade Leon Washington and a 6th for a 5th.

He has no leg to stand on as far as accumulating picks goes.

One stat that was mentioned in all of this, both the Giants and the Pats had 60+% of their starting roster from first round draft picks. We specialize in wasted first round draft picks.
