Does anyone else think Keller is FOS

5 weeks now for a pulled hammy?
    Contract year
    Doesn't want to get hurt
Knows he's not in the Jets future
    Why risk making it worse?

Ugh, even though he's a mediocre player this season is just an unmitigated disaster!
Could you imagine Drew Brees, Brady or Rogers having to play with this starting offense?

Though Mark is inaccurate & drills passes from 5 yards away or tosses them too flat & they get picked off, there is no way in hell that opposing QBs are looking at his situation & not feeling sorry for him.
The Jacksonville Jaguars look like the Packers on offense compared to the Jets right now.
The problem in this league is that when things go wrong & the future looks bleak, todays players break from the "team" mentality & go into an every man for himself mode.

That's where the Jets are right now. Will they pull together & defend each other & their honor, or will they go into self preservation mold & do whatever they have to do to protect themselves.
This really is the question because EVERYTHING is riding on the type of effort the Jet give for the rest of this season. They are playing to save Rex job.
You can't have a coach not have the "pulse" of his team 2 years in a row in the NFL & keep your job.
Stay tuned, same channel, same Jets, different year.

Contract years players always want to play well.

And when you pull a hamstring, it's basically a month. For a skill position anyway. Especially when you aggravate it, which apparently is what he did.

There is no way to heal a hamstring faster than just rest...

Contract years are where players gut it out to maximize their stats, etc .. they typically don't hide from the field..

Yea, makes no sense for any player in a contract year to not play.

    +1...Hammy's a nagging injury.

The old play through pain attitude doesnt cut it.

What is with the conpiracy theories?

Holmes faked his injury and swapped a cadaver for his MRI?

Keller, one of Sanchez' best friends on the team is faking injury?

The only thing that makes sense is Keller had a set back or the injury was more severe than first reported.

Rex is finally changing his ways about injuries so we are getting less and less info.

Frankly, I hope Rex continues to offer nothing.

LOL oh god our fans are sad, every injury this season is due to the player not wanting to play because of some contract related crap

    (sigh)

Rex, despite the angst that the board has for him these days, has certainly offered us fans more than "nothing," but I get it..

Offer nothing to the media was the intended context.

Keller is done here anyway after this year. And we need to go 2-14 to secure the #1 pick. I suggest he take the rest of the year off. You dont want to mess with that hammy.

    That's not going to happen...

Although our talent level is extremely low, we have 3 really good coaches in Westhoff, Rex, and Sparano. They'll find a way to win 7 games.

Kellers is an alright player. But that's it. He can't block for sh!t and he disappears for stretches. Honestly his best defense for being kept is he's Mark's best friend and favorite target. Not exactly the greatest case now considering Mark isn't looking like he's gonna be "the guy" anymore. I don't believe he's faking (seems to be a common belief round here lately) but as far as retaining him goes I wouldn't be devastated if he walked.

    Matt Kemp says hi.

It happens. The way he went down to the ground on the play in which he was injured tells me that it wasn't an ordinary pull or strain.

Some hammy injuries can take weeks to heal.
