The Mark Sanchez era .... Beginning to End...

    http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature...&v=3MCLlYm2HAs

This is how the era started. What a great feeling this was and I'll never forget it. Seems like ancient history but boy was it such a fresh feeling to have such a young and exciting team back then. Fast forward now .... Season 4 in his career and tomorrow could very well end the Sanchez era. I certainly hope it doesn't and I hope we look like a team that even slightly resembles the hungry Jets team that stepped in at Sanchez's first game. I mean we used to play with passion, hunger, drive, and etc. Its been a while since I've heard Rex say ... "Playing like a Jet" ... You can't help but think about this whole ship sailing. I hope it doesn't though ... I can't give up on these guys yet. This can't be it, can it?

    Couple things I noticed:

    1. Devito was a lot fatter then

    2. Harris was a lot skinnier and faster

    3. The Jets had a running back that didn't run into the first thing he saw after getting the ball...

    4. The defense was a hell of a lot more aggressive

How about Keller and Cotch catching passes and actually running with a purpose like they are trying to make a play. We catch a 9 yard pass now and there's none of that these days aside from some Kerley plays. Man the whole team looked motivated. This is the energy and passion I expected after this game. I was good with wins, losses, ties, or whatever as long as the team played with passion. These days the team looked so lackluster and bored ... its disturbing. There looks like there's more thinking rather than playing these days.

Big Sanchez supporter here, but only because he is a Jet. Still hope he can turn this around because constant change will never win us the SB.
Unfortunately, the fish stinks from the head, and ownership on down is a mess.

You can blame Sanchez on the FO and CS. I was at the Houston game. He was a gun slinger with lots of energy and made plays with his wrist. Played practical jokes and had a demeanor like Favre.

Then came the color code, the slide lessons, and making him as conservative as possible. Blame Rex, schotty, cab, as well as the FO for no weapons around him and playing musical wrs.

I actually like our corps of JAG receivers. I think guys like Schilens and Hill definitely show "passion," they definitely seem like they want to be here, and they're not bad receivers either. Lots of teams have good receivers, not great ones but good ones, come from nowhere when they're given an opportunity. I think Jeremy Kerley, Chaz Schilens and Stephen Hill can contribute to an NFL offense right now.

It's the running game that's gonna sink us or float us this year. We don't play the Colts every game, but we need production.

our WR core is only better now that Holmes is hurt. I hope he never plays a game in a jet uniform again. That being said Cotchery Braylon and Keller >>>> than what we have now.But Kerley and schillens >> plax and Holmes.

Hill sucks right now and is 2-3 seasons away from being a player.

Who knows how good a T-E-A-M the Jets would've been had they decided NOT to go after Santonio Primadonna.

    This.

They tried to make him into the QB they wanted, a conservative game manager/caretaker, and ruined him in the process. The result was a player that was always fighting his instincts and thinking far too much.

The color-coded garbage wouldn't have been necessary if Schotty hadn't insisted on having a rookie who'd spent his entire life in SoCal, playing his first game in windy and rainy conditions, keep throwing the ball when were having a record setting day on the ground, ripping off 8 yards every time we ran it.

It's unbelievable how nobody talks about this this; how we're all so quick to blame Sanchez yet the way he's been handled has been an absolute cluster**** from the start.

To me, it starts with, who the hell trades up to the fifth pick in the draft for a guy they want to be a game manager??? When you trade up like that, its for a QB who you're going to say "go win us ball games." Instead, we traded up for the guy we saw in the season opener @ Houston in 09, and have morphed and modified him into a terrible game manager.
