Thanks. I have to admit though that I don't go cheap on my daughter's swimsuits and softball gear because she has it in her head that expensive and "name" equals best quality, and I want to do everything I can to make sure she has the best opportunity to get a scholarship. Hey, how'd softball season go? Don't you coach?

    Not cheap:

Cars - buy the best you can.
    Watch - 1 or 2 good ones.
    Shoes

The important thing as my dad used to say is "buy the best you can and take care of it/them/whatever and they will take care of you." I have a 13 year old Mercedes thats looks great. A watch that is 50 years old-same thing. Thanks pop.

He did tell me not to bet on the Jets! MONEY NOT MY HEART.

Funny how you remember all the stuff they tried to beat in your head when they were alive after they are gone. Better late.............

For me that is beer and eyeglasses.

I can talk about beer quality all night, but with glasses it's likely because I had no health coverage for eyeglasses and I simply couldn't afford to buy new one's. I had my first pair of glasses from 6th grade to my senior year of high school. They were beat up to hell, I wore them under my football helmet, I wore them to concerts with mosh pits. They had electric tape holding them together for a few years.
Who gets health coverage for eyeglasses?

Oh this brings back the memories of looking at the $300 price tags on aluminum bats.

I am now officially retired as both girls are in college. I may at some point go back and coach. I'll be one of those old creepy guys coaching girls softball even though I don't have any kids on the team. Maybe I'll just cut the grass instead.

Check up and one pair a year. But its the spike lee type clown glazzes so you end up paying nearly full boat for another pair.

Better than nothing, but not a complete score by any means.

I read a crap load of reviews before I buy anything, cheap or expensive. And after I finally read enough reviews, I tend to sit on it for another week or two before I pull the trigger.

Forgive me, I thought this was a sly attempt on Durden's part to promote universal healthcare. He would do that.

I don't coach my daughter anymore, and now she claims I was the best coach she ever had. Funny, I never noticed the admiration though all of her *****ing.

I do too. I get two pair a year. But I usually end up paying a lot for one pair because I get the lighter lenses and better frames.
