What if the Jets beat the Patriots on Sunday

So, I'm curious to see what people have to say to this question. Although, I'm a realist and believe its unlikely to happen, even though I will be cheering my ass of for the jets,

What if the Jets beat the Patriots this Sunday?

My answer: 1) the media finally turns on the Jets and puts a positive spin on things.

    2) Sanchez will remain QB for the rest of the season (barring any injury).

    3) The Jets win the division, riding a ground and pound attack, top notch special teams, and solid play calling on both sides of the ball.

    Have fun!

If the Jets beat the Patriots on Sunday, they will probably lose to the Dolphins the following week.....LOL

    4) Jets then proceed to lay an egg vs. Miami.

Thanks for stating the obvious PatsFAN.

If Sanchez plays lights out it's because the Pats D is really bad. Therefore it doesn't count. I can see that being the rallying call. Personally I just want him to play well, heck I called him out for playing poorly against good teams. So I am not going to add a caveat if he torches the Pats in a win.

It's not that big of a deal in the overall scheme of things.

It's only week 7 and it really doesn't matter what happens.

Playoffs and championships are won in December, not mid-October.

Thats exactly what the loser of the game will be saying. Although, wins in the early part of the season are equal to those at the end of the season.

    Tell that to the Giants.

While the "win" counts the same, you certainly want to be playing your best at the end of the season.

    "The Jets caught some breaks"

"The Pats had an off day"

Nothing will change in the media's position on either team from this one game. They just don't know how to do anything different.

This would actually be a "typical Sanchez" thing to do. Play pretty well in a huge game and ride that performance's coattails through a sh*tty rest of the season, dooming your team.

Yep. Just like the Giants, Packers, etc.

Jets would be 3-0 in the division with only 1 road game left in those division games.
It would be HUGE considering they can try & go 4-0 vs Miami the next week.

Rex will spend the next week filling the media with sound bites only to lose the next three games...

He happens to be right though. You can't win the Division in Sept/Oct, but you certainly can lose it.

The season will be less than half over. If the Jets win on Sunday, they still have the capacity to go 6-10 just as easily as 11-5/10-6.

And if they lose on Sunday, they still can go 10-6. The media will tell you otherwise, but its just one game.
