    • Brady will throw at least one needlessly difficult 150MPH pass to Welker when a 80MPH pass would do.
    • Brady half ducks for no apparent reason while in the pocket.
    • Coples sacks Brady but is otherwise a non factor.
    • Jones sacks Sanchez twice and is in his grill for another half dozen plays.
    • Brady and Sanchez will each have two passes batted down by a D- lineman.
    • Jets block a Mesko punt.
    • I won't get laid.

Tx, it has been a long time coming but Brady has finally slipped to the point where it is noticeable. We are not talking AROD type slippage yet but Tom Brady simply is not the same player any more.

We shall see. I don't think the Pats can afford to spot this Jets team two or three touchdowns this Sunday and think that you will be a lock to come back. Everyone has the Jets getting crushed. Why even bother to show up? Talk about flying under the radar. Just sayin'... House money.

Tx will learn .... he's only been a Pat fan since January 2002 when Walt Coleman created the first ever double elimination postseason game so he has no memory of what happens when a great QB loses his skills and his career comes to an end.

Long term Jet fans watched this happened in the early 70s when Broadway Joe Namath declined due to age and injuries to a shell of his once great self. Anyone watching Brady in 2012 in the losses to the Cardinals and Seahawks sees signs of the same decline...

balls hitting the ground and missing the target when thrown too quickly due to fear of being hit

Intentional grounding for just hurling the ball to avoid a rush

    and worst of all

Falling to the ground in the pocket when not even being hit

Like Joe Willie at the end, the fear of those footsteps and the priority for survival in the pocket has taken over for hanging in there and hitting secondary targets.

But we must be compassionate for the Guidos, Robots and TXs that post here. Prior to Coleman their autumns were spent watching BC college football, waiting for the Celtics and Broons to get going and an occasional round of duckpin bowling ---or in TX's case days of clearing brush, rounding up the cattle and chickens and cow chip throwing contests

Again, hypothetically, would this poster be able to make it back for the PEnny87toColes10 posts in the gameday thread? He wouldnt want to miss that.
    Seriously, bro?

With Namath - was it one big injury that set him back suddenly? How swift was his decline? Was he a mobile QB?

he was very mobile in college but by the time the Jets drafted him his knees were seriously compromised. There was no arthroscopy so surgery was always major reconstructive and Namath (actually no players) completely regained mobility as they do now.

He wore large braces on both knees and was not at all mobile for his entire NFL career. He received great protection and his quick released allowed him to play at HOF levels in the late 60s and the beginning of the 70s

but his knees continued to degenerate and by the mid seventies the combination of those injuries, the cumulative hits he had taken and to some extent age (although he was only 32 in 1975) took their toll and he was pretty much done

Now Brady, while already half a decade or more older than Joe was at that point in his career is of course healthier with only one repaired knee. But he is also far from mobile and watching him this season, the signs are evident that he is beginning to shy away from contact, hear footsteps, intentionally ground the ball and even hit the ground taking a sack even before a defender touches him.

The clock is ticking. My guess is that he will be announcing his retirement no later than the end of next football season (1913-14)

Here's to an injury free game this Sunday.. from both teams.

I personally feel that we should pool our mutual hatred of the Giants and forget this silly rivalry... but I was told to GFYM the last time I suggested it.

Actually, you were told to GFY, not your mom (I just looked quick).

    And, GFYM.

I was paraphrasing. The 'M' was meant to be short for the word 'myself'.

Not surprising you were confused by this really.

"go eff yourself myself?!" I'm still confused. Educate me more, wordsmith.

Or, take it how it was intended...a joke.

When an illegal helmet-mounted audio phone allows the sideline to warn the QB of the pass rush at home, he'll look resolute.

Just have a group of players fake injuries every other play. That's how you stop the hurry up
