Are you willing to give Revis the money he wants ?

Revis is going to get healthy and next year he could be asking for a LOT of money. While I won't argue that he is/was the best DB in the game are you willing to give him the big bucks he wants at the expense of possible signing other players in key positions like L/B and O/L ?

Hell no. We're not gonna be better, even with him, until we can put pressure on the QB. A CB is not a guy you give big money to.

so far, the jets aren't showing that they're junk without him. if the season progresses this way, I think it hurts his bargaining position.

Ive been saying the same thing since his holdout in 2010, you do not pay a corner like a qb, period.

If the pass rush is upgraded, the Jets can win with a small retooling of the secondary, just like Baltimore has done for years and years and years. Antonio Cromartie is no slouch.

Don't even need him at all. The D is playing way better with out him. Trade him for picks. Double win, frees up cap space to sign fre agents and the two picks can help to get us faster ans younger.

should he be the highest paid cb.:. oh yea! but he can't make qb money . if he wants some crazy deal , let him walk. unfortunately we can't tag him and trade him for a 1st rounder.

not sure we can franchise him... I think this current contract prevents jets from doing so

    No

With the way guys like Cro and Wilson have been playing, where's the sense in dishing out $15+ million a year to retain Revis?

The guy is a great player, but we have to fix this offense.

His "me first/team second" attitude has rubbed me the wrong way for a long time. The stunt he pulled by going to a bar, and drinking alcohol while rehabbing a concussion as his teammates lost in Pittsburgh was the last straw with me. I would trade him to the highest bidder.

Ask yourself, has our defense played that much worse in his absence?

    No.

Get a WR and some more O Line so we can actually run the ball.

I don't think you could keep him for anything more than 8mm to 10mm a year.

    I wouldn't pay him a penny more.

Really the Jet defense hasn't been noticably much worse without him (except the last 2 drives yesterday).

I say trade him and get younger, faster linebackers.

    Trade him for two 1's or a 1 and a 2.

I actually think Revis is going to get less money now. He's not Jesus on defense anymore. The Jets showed they don't need him. Maybe now he'll buck up and take a fair contract, because I'd still love to have him if we could. But if not, and some other team is willing to do give him what he wants, get 2 1's for him.

Put that money in the front seven. Possibly two positions. I wouldn't mind 2 OLB. D line is set, Davis is showing promise and makes Harris look a little better. Now we need to retool the outside.

Revis is an incredible player, but as of right now, I get everything I possibly can for him, and deal him. We should get at least a first rounder for him. Put our two high draft picks into a WR and someone who can rush the passer.
