I don't think there is any question that football-talent decisions dog this franchise. As broad a problem as that is, it falls squarely at the feet of the GM.
    1) Peter Principle is flawed.

    2) While Tanny has been poor, he's not the only one making decisions. We definitely need a change in the scouting department. And hire a GM that knows football.

Even leaving aside the thorny matter of divining the varying proportion of Tanny's connivance, acquiescence, foreknowledge, exploitation, and incompetence in touring the city promoting ungrateful priggism in radio talk-show interviews, we can state the following as an established fact: There's a time to keep silent and a time to speak. There's a time to love and a time to hate. There's a time for war and a time for peace. And, I maintain, there's a time to bring important information about Tanny's doctrinaire homilies into the limelight. Or, to put it less poetically, anyone who has spent much time wading through the pious, obscurantist, jargon-filled cant that now passes for "advanced" thought already knows that when one would confront Tanny about his psychotic biases, he either tells them that they don't understand him or feeds them some meaningless mumbo-jumbo about opportunism. What may be news, however, is that Tanny does not appeal to most people as being the most endearing or public-minded of GM's. Maybe his image would improve somewhat if he stopped trying to leave behind a legacy of perpetual indebtedness. No one—except Tanny, so high on his own hallucinations that he believes them to be real—can seriously believe that mediocrity is a worthwhile goal.
