    Ivory/Blount/SJax

Clayton is reporting he believes ivory or blount could be had for a 7th rounders.

SJax could as be had for probably the same.

I like ivory or blount. Young players with something to prove. Lets do it.

Are Ivory and Blount both RB's?

If so, take them both if you can.

Jets are not a playoff team by adding any of these guys..

So don't give up any draft picks. Even a 7th!!

What scares me is, Tanny knows his job could be on the line. Trading away picks to hope for a run this year may be the only way to save his job.

If you remember Wanstedt and company did that in Miami. They knew their jobs were on the line and made some stupid deals that last season. Only to still be fired and left the fans fuming that they gave away picks.

The owner should put a stop to any deals.

I'd take either of them for a 7th-rounder. We need some new blood with potential over the likes of Greene.

Agreed. The Saints backfield is pretty crowded, iirc, so Ivory wouldn't be a bad addition.

Yeah I remember the Mets old GM (hardly watch baseball anymore, but think it was Steve Phillips?) Trading an excellent young pitching prospect to Tampa for Victor friggin Zambrano in an attempt to save his job as well. Ofcourse it didn't work and it left the Franchise in a bigger hole than would of been otherwise as Zambrano sucked and the prospect turned out to be a hell of a pitcher.

Although this scenario doesn't seem as common in the NFL, I HOPE Tannenbaum doesn't try pulling this desperation crap with the Jets, or that Woody is smart enough to not let this happen. Its hard enough winning in the NFL, we don't need a desperate GM trading future picks for "win now" talent in an effort to save his job for another year.

However, if you can get one of those young RBs with potential for only a 7th, don't see why they shouldn't do it. Someone like Blount will not only be an addition to the 2012 Jets, but to the future as well. As long as it only would take a 6th or 7th then I see no problem with it......anything more and its just not worth it IMO.

    Disagree.

Blount is faster and hits the hole harder than Greene, McKnight and Powell combined. He plays faster than his 40 time unlike Greene who actually plays slower than his mediocre 40 time. None of our Running Backs are punishing, hard hitting players - Blount is. Only reason he still isn't running for 1,000 yards per season is because Schiano hates him and loves the back he picked Doug Martin.

Ivory is a JAG and SJAX is old and has a bad contract let Schitty ruin him in STL.

Coincidentally, my favorite (aside from Jericho) was Shawn Michaels.

We'd be lucky to get a guy like Ivory in round 7 ... hell he's better than guys we drafted in 3rd and 4th rounds like McKnight and Powell. In fact ... if you made me make the choice gimme Ivory over Greene ..... 7th rounder for a RB better than everyone in our roster ... I'll take it
