    Who wouldnt.

You may need to lower your expectations to a 8th or 9th round pick though.

That's a no brainier.......problem is I don't think Detroit is stupid enough to do it.

A 6th or 7th is alot more realistic, and even that is no lock a team would give up one or the other considering Smith's contract and problem staying healthy this year.

Eric smith would be lucky to get picked up if he was cut. Nobody is giving up a draft pick for him.

Why don't we trade Smith for Brady instead? Genius!

    That wouldn't work in Madden.

Why stop there. Why not throw in Schlauderaff for Calvin Johnson

    Wink

Tell me if I'm missing something, but are we all that certain about Landry's left Achilles?
This was a huge concern to many, a big question mark on the move and certainly impacted the contract.
I have faith in the guy, but what if (knock on wood)?
Smith is no good, but wasn't he qbing the D last year? At least he understands it (though he can't actually play it)
Or is it that we're in a hole that makes one say screw it...

Edit: beer induced sarcasm detector broken

What if its ok for the season?

My guess is that he will command 4-6 mil on the open market next year, and will be out of a Jets uniform.

    Thumbs down

you couldnt trade eric smith for anybody's 4th rounder if your life depended on it...

You couldn't trade Eric Smith for a used condom at this point. Not only is a horrific pathetic excuse for a Safety he is insanely overpaid ($2 mil salary this season).

How Tanny 1) gave Eric Smith that kind of money bidding against himself for a way below avg Safety and 2) did not cut Smith last off-season is mind-bogglingly inept.

I could see the Eagles giving us a 5th but that is as high as it is going to get. The Lions are not going anywhere this year and they know it.

Why would the Eagles give up a 5th round pick for a slow Safety who can't cover Mulligan and is getting paid $2 million this season?

You guys overrate Smith - he has 0 value on the open market how Tanny ever gave him that insane deal is beyond any understanding.

Considering the season is half over it's only $1M.

That should increase his market value to 2 #1s

    lol

Maybe Tanny can turn around and package those #1's to Denver for Jim Leonhard - our other slow piece of crap Safety who made JAG TE's look like superstars facing our D for years.

Because Reid is desperate to save his job and Smith is sadly a lot better then anyone he has at S right now. He can at least tackle. He would fit their needs better then ours.

We couldn't even get a 2034 8th round pick for him.. Maybe the Flint Tropics will give us a washing machine for him, that'd be nice

On what planet is that true?

I guarantee you that Philly' 2nd stringers are better in coverage than piss poor Eric Smith. Reid should know he saw first hand last December his tight end Brent Celek carve Eric Smith a new bunghole:
