There is no market for Sanchez. Particularly at his price and guarantees next year.

Tim Tebow trade rumors swirl, but New York Jets deny rumors they are speaking with Jacksonville about moving quarterback

The Daily News first reported on Twitter Wednesday morning that the Jets and Jaguars have not had any trade discussions involving Tim Tebow before the league's Thursday 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

A local Jacksonville television station reported late Tuesday night that the Jaguars had inquired about Tebow, who grew up in Jacksonville.

But sources told the News that there have been no talks to move the Jets' lightning-rod backup quarterback.

The Jaguars pursued Tebow in March before he ultimately opted to be dealt to the Jets because he felt Mark Sanchez's inconsistent play through the years would give him a better chance to eventually be the starting quarterback, according to sources.

Jaguars coaches also made it clear that Tebow wouldn't have an opportunity to challenge incumbent Blaine Gabbert for the starting job, according to sources.

The News reported on Sunday that the Jets had no plans to move Tebow before the trade deadline and that Rex Ryan wanted to use him more on offense moving forward.

Ryan said Monday that Sanchez will remain the starter, but that he would take a "hard look" at getting Tebow more involved.

Tebow has averaged just seven offensive snaps per game through the first half of the season. Ryan admitted that it "wouldn't be shocking" if the competitive Tebow were frustrated with his limited role.

Tebow told the Daily News last week that he didn't want to make waves over his role partly because the Jets "have a history... of people talking too much."

He maintained that "you never know for me. My role, it could expand."

Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano told the News last week that he "absolutely love(s) having the Tebow element in my offense" and "there's not one bad thing about having a player like Tim Tebow on your team."

well of course their going to deny it. they claimed they had this big plan for him to see 20-30 snaps a game in the preseason, and he's play what, 15 all year? wouldn't be surprised if he's gone.

Based on pure numbers thru the gate or % of stadium filled?

Didn't they place tarps on the upper deck? So that lessens their available tixs thus increasing % of stadium filled?

Also, did they come up with some creative marketing plan to sell tixs? Buy one get one free?

    Just asking

Tebow has barely accounted for 100 yards from scrimmage. Not once has the team executed a big play on offense with Tebow on the field. His ONLY noteworthy impact has come while on special teams.

But here's our OC saying he "absolutely loves having the Tebow element." Chaz Schilens has more yards from scrimmage than Tebow, but I don't hear anybody singing his praises.

tebow is not the problem for how he's being used. the jets are trying to stick with sanchez despite his on again off again qbacking. imo it's time they took a harder line with sanchez and see what he's truly made of.

Tebow is tough and has heart.
Sanchez is a wimp and soft and quits.

Tebow has been a leader and champion. Plus an MVP.
    Sanchez has never achieved anything.

Tebow has a place on this team as a versatile player. Sanchez is eh.

This would be great if it were to happen. We have much bigger problems than Tebow can solve. He needs to go so he won't get in the way.

Sanchez did help us go to 2 AFC Championship games, that's at least some kind of achievement. I would label Sanchez a lot of things, but I wouldn't label him a quitter.

That's what I was thinking. With Tannenbaum, it's always the opposite. Once I saw the initial report, I immediately knew the Jets would deny it.

I still don't think he'll be traded, but just because they're refuted rumors doesn't mean the door is closed entirely.

Not so much help as didn't hurt. That was mostly defense and the ground attack.
He is a quitter. His demeanor and body language says it all.

A lot of things helped us in those playoff runs, including Sanchez.

He does have poor body language after bad plays, but not sure that makes him a quitter. My take is that it means he's frustrated at himself, not quitting.

Good to know that you are talented at making incredibly facile, sweeping generalizations. If Tebow could play, he'd be in.

I totally agree, Tebow should have been used a lot MORE than he has been not less. Sparano has done a garbage job in that regard. Tebow can be a valuable player in the right situation. I always laugh at the old whine "You are taking Sanchez out of his rhythm! bleats."
