    Some Jets/football poetry

Obviously I love the game of football and I want to give something back to it. I've been working on this for a while and am thinking about performing it at an open mic night at a bookstore tomorrow. Would love some feedback.

A is for American football, the game we all love
B is for the bomb pass, dropping from above
C is for the center, who snaps on every play
D is for the defense, who put the game away
E is for everyone sitting in the stands
F is for the forward pass, landing right in hand
G is for the guard, on the inside of the line
H is the halfback, running all the time
I is a formation, a hard one to forget
J is for the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS JETS JETS
K is for the kicker, he's different from the rest
L is for the linemen, more athletic than you'd have guessed
M is for Mark Sanchez, in him I believe
N is for New York, the city where we live
O is for the offense, a unit that gets much blame
P is for the punter, his job is pretty lame
Q is for the quarterback, his job is really hard
R is for Rex Ryan, who got rid of all his lard
S is for a safety, good for just 2 points
T is for a tackle, good ones break some joints
U is for the uniform, worn by every player
V is for our victory, don't care about naysayers
W is for the record, better than an L
X is a receiver, with Sanchez he must gel
Y is also a receiver, to the right side he may stay
Z can also be a receiver, depending on the play

Thank you all very much! Again, any feedback would be appreciated. During a reading of this, when I get to a Jets chant, I'd probably go a bit crazy then calm back down to read the next line. I would also probably read this wearing a Sanchez jersey for maximum effect. Pretty good, huh?

That was probably your first mistake right there.

That's cute (though I'd replace dumb with right), but nobody at the bookstore would get the cadaver reference without me having to give a long introduction. Plus I don't know how many of the people there are Jets fans so they may not even know about Tone's "injury".

    Edit: Wait, right doesn't start with a D. I guess I couldn't do that.

    Roses are jet
    Violets are blue
If the jets were a horse
    They'd be turned into glue.

There once was a quarterback from Nantucket,
Who saw double coverage deep in the red zone, but said...

Thank you all for your feedback. I know I got a bit of a ribbing, but I know that it's in good fun and that you enjoyed my work. Unfortunately the bookstore I was scheduled to perform in asked me not to come because they already have a full slate of performers, and since they're not sure whether they're even going to have open mic nights after tonight, I might be looking for a new venue to perform this in person. Let me know if you know of any place in the tri-state area.

Yeah, "a bit of ribbing",... like Sandy was just a 'bit' of a breeze and drizzle.

While it might not be evident to a chowd outsider such as yourself, we Jets fans are a tight bunch. We can beat up on each other, but at the end of the day we all have each others backs. I would go as far as to say that every non-chowd on this board is like a brother or sister to me, and I know they feel the same.
